Get ready to get your worlds turned upside down as Namco Bandai announced Inversion for both the PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles. It's a "whirlwind journey complete with nonstop firefights, and a suspense-filled storyline."

Inversion is a third-person co-op shooter that is set in the near future. The peace is shattered when an unforeseen invasion occurs, thanks to the Lutadores. They're one tough enemy to face as they have futuristic gravity-controlling weapons. Add to this whole trouble is the unknown effect of the invasion to the earth, throwing random regions in the city into zero gravity or affecting their vector changes.

Not to worry though, cos the game also features the Grappler weapon. This is what you can use for various combat situations by manipulating gravity. Maneuver massive objects as shields or projectiles, or even push out hidden camps to blast them away.

You will play the role of Davis Russel, a 28-year-old cop who's got a short fuse. Either him, or his neighbor Leo Delgado, to save the disorienting and gravity-twisted streets of their hometown and beyond.

Todd Thorson of Namco Bandai said, "Inversion will turn the shooter genre upside down, literally. Saber Interactive's innovative gravity manipulation feature will blow away any preconceptions of what a contemporary shooter should be."

No release date has been given out for Inversion, but we do have some screenshots and artwork in the meantime.
