There's a PlayStation Move game that involves riding around on an office chair and trying to escape from the Yakuza. It's called Slider, and it's going to be one of the Move's launch titles in North America. Producer George Weising recently gave out more details about the wacky game in an interview with Siliconera.

First, the set-up. Slider is, in Weising's own words, "a game about a detective and secretary trying to escape the Yakuza because they are up to their neck in debt." Your only means of escape is by sliding down the streets of Hong Kong to get to a beat up van. Hilarity, of course, ensues.

It sounds like a concept for a mini-game that lasts only a few minutes, but Weising says otherwise. Slider is apparently a big enough game to last hours.

"There are a whole bunch of different courses and each course has a whole bunch of different variations of it – different paths through the city, different versions of each path," the producer said. "So, as you play through the game you unlock different modes: time trial, freeform, and so."

Weising also notes that Slider involves "bizarre interactions with the environment" and even some office chair skateboard-style grinding for good measure. Humor is also a big part of the game, and that's something the localization team is trying hard to keep intact.

"We scrubbed the dialogue completely," Weising said regarding Sloder's localization. "We rewrote specifically to be funny in North America and then all of the voice talent will be American actors with an English dub."

For now, Slider is the only Move game SCEJ has that is confirmed for North America, but Weising hints that there may be more titles coming in the future. It seems Sony hasn't decided yet whether to make Slider a downloadable title or give it a retail release, but we should hear more about that when Move's Fall release nears.

This looks fun. I kinda feel like it's better suited to be a downloadable than a retail product though.

Don't worry guys it's only a launch title.

They'll have tons of time to make more shovelware.

This is exactly the type of game I do not want for the Move. Keep that mess for the Wii.
