MotorStorm: thrills, spills, and a lack of "cleanliness"

Road rage! Rawr!

The statement "MotorStorm is clean" is quite entirely false. You can even say it's an oxymoron, in fact. However, that doesn't automatically mean that the game is bad. Because MotorStorm is dirty, and that's just the way we like it! Are we expecting glitter-inducing pixies and cute, googly-eyed puppies in this game? Sorry, but no.

From these new screenshots alone, someone not familiar with the upcoming game would instantly realize that this game is all about road rage, "Mad Max" style (sans Mel Gibson). What with all that mud, dirt, and dust in the game, MotorStorm isn't just dirty in the "go wash yourself up" sense. There's lots of action: exploding vehicles in mid-air, riders who are sent flying fifteen feet ahead of their motorbikes, and trucks that are sent tumbling down a ravine.

We know your fingers are itching for the game already. But while Evolution Studios won't release the game until November 17, just scratch that itch by clicking on these new images!

Wow!

Wow this game look more and more like the trailler!!! at E3. By the way did you heard that Halo 3 will be on 4 DVD ?

by - 2006-10-27 14:45:30
4 dvds?

Microsoft iz dumb. They shoulda used hdDVD.

by - 2006-10-27 15:23:30
I don't think so....

This game looks good, but it doesn't almost look like the trailer.

by - 2006-10-27 16:56:29
HD-DVD 1x is only 1/3rd the speed of DVD 12x!

Hence HD-DVD is way too slow. So no, MS should not have used HD-DVD. And can this thread get back to MotorStorm now?

by - 2006-10-27 16:59:26
This thread is about MotorStorm not Halo!

Stop acting like a dumb fanboy and stick to the topic.

by - 2006-10-27 17:02:50
Agreed.

This game has always looked like being great fun to play, although I hope they get the speed up in the final version, since some have complained that the vehicles feels too slow. But it does not look like that E3 2005 trailer, although it does look good.

YA DAMN IDIOTS!!

These ARE NOT ACTUAL gameplay!! Who plays a racing game where the cars are coming towards you?!! I mean cmon now guys!! can u say....CG!!??

by - 2006-10-27 17:22:52
Actually...

...whilst they are not gameplay screens, they ARE running on the game engine, i.e. taken from the replays. So it IS realtime, not CG!

I am confused

I was wondering is there any official North American date for Motorstorm? I heard its not going to be a North American launch game, and this article says otherwise.

by RommelTJ - 2006-10-27 19:18:03
Yeah well.....

The dates that I've been hearing from EVOLUTION STUDIOS has always been November 17. @ the Tokio Game show, they said it was 80% complete. However, Gamestop says it wont release until March of next year. I really dont think that 20% of a game in its final stages can take 6 months to complete, so I think the November 17 date is right. I'm going to google this for a while though. Oh, and for XBOX 360 OWNER: This game is not awesome because of just graphics. In fact, most people that are getting this game are NOT getting it by the graphics. The main reason Im gonna get it is because of the terrain destruction. Like, if you crash into a rock on one level, that rock will be in the place you pushed it in the next time you play that level. Also, another thing that got me sold was the fact that is SIXAXIS compatible.

Dear PS34ME

Try not to make comments when u dont know what your talking about. HD-DVD may be only 4x read speed, but that does not mean its slower. Go learn your facts. And about motorstorm, the game has been delayed into 2007. Just so u all know.

by - 2006-10-27 22:35:15
did u get it

what so special about it is that microsoft cant develop ***** like that, all they can do is create fps assclitlickingpunk*****headsuckiwillteabagyourmotherwheniseeher

Dear Andrew

And where are YOUR facts? Please read, http://www.blu-ray.com/faq/ The data TRANSFER SPEED of HD-DVD 1x and Blu-ray 1x for standard data is 36Mbps and for DVD 1x is 11.08Mbps, which makes DVD 12x 133MBps peak (about 100Mbps on average). This is why the PS2 includes Blu-ray 2x, because it has the data transfer performance of DVD 8x on average (and is rated as DVD 8x in the official PS3 SPECS). There's a little more to it, as the following link will explain, http://uk.gamespot.com/pages/profile/show_blog_entry.php?topic_id+23916169+user+skektek Today, you can 'now' see HD-DVD drives offering up to 2.4x (CLV), but not when the 360 was launched, which would have meant HD-DVD 1x for the console, which IS too slow.

by - 2006-10-28 03:16:06

every article like this I look at I think there will be one guy who says it is CGI and not gameplay and today you are that guy. congratulations.
