Just when you thought you couldn't get any more excited for MotorStorm, along comes this online multiplayer preview vid which will only cause your salivary glands to throb and hurt some more.

You've seen the screens, the game's intro vid, and read up on tons and tons of info we've brought you earlier. But I gotta tell you though, none of those compare to this vid right here, which shoves us right into the mud action of the online multiplayer mode. Not to worry though, it won't be long before you rid yourself of those withdrawal symptoms as the game is set to hit the shelves this March. Enjoy the vid!

looks average

especially compared to existing PS2 online racers. Reminds me of when Hardware: Online Arenas was launched.

Regardless...

Even if it is nothing special looking, the gameplay looks cool. It's like burnout, in the dessert, with more vehicles and cooler crashes. Also, I like the realtime deformation of the track, that is sweet. One big thing i'm wondering, all the gameplay i've seen looks like it's in the same setting...do they mix it up at all in snow or cities or anything?

.

hey. all the races are in the desert, but the tracks are varied enough..also the lighting changes, which adds to the replay of the same tracks as you complete more of the game. there are also night time races (even in the jap version, but no headlights :P) 'looks average compared to ps2 games online'...this was a 5 player race...of course its not going to look exciting. and to all who say this game doesnt look good or is just 'average' you obviiuosly havnt played the game...the tracks are awesome; however, some do look better than others, and the track in the vid isnt the best looking, this one can be quite dull in some places, but its a great track to play. http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h303/nnerdd/928393_122006_screen001.jpg anyone who says that screen looks 'average' is mentaly insane.

Re: PS3 for noobs idiot

If you had a brain and also have played the demo (the downloadable one, not the older one in the stores) you'd know damn well it was very similar to the demo. You are basically just an ass anyway, why should anyone care about your blinkered opinion?

Burnout?

It actually feels NOTHING like burnout. I think you should actually try playing the game instead of speculating how it feels based on your limited observations.

Re Burnout

How would you know it FEELS nothing like burnout ? there is no rumble or Feedback on this game is there ?.

rage

This still looks a very average game, I really dont think it looks any better than JUST CAUSE when driving a car, and as said above those jumps and impacts without feedback/rumble I cant see it happening for many people...

by - 2007-02-14 05:34:13
no online

no online in jap verison,........12 person online for american verison even without the rumble, you get you use the controller like a steering wheel..... something MS can't and will never have,,,,,,,,

pshhh, dont judge a book by its cover!

anyone that says this game looks average and is just another drivin game clearly doesnt have a PS3 or even played the game... The demo is seriously addictive and fun, so imagine what the full game will be like.. I don't see many 360 games that have drivin games like this and i doubt ur ever have the privilage!!
by - 2007-02-14 07:03:12
umm

before all you guys say this game is "average", why doesn't someone post a screenshot of a crash? =)
by - 2007-02-14 09:37:48
personally

I am not a big "racer" fan... But after DL this games demo... it is actually pretty fun. The crashes and gameplay are really great. I suggest everyone give it a shot before you knock it.

Rumble is soo over-rated. There isnt one game out there on the console that really needs it and enough people turn the feature off anyway. There isnt one game out there that makes rumble worth it. Its a distraction in shooter games, its poorly used in fighting games, its piss poor in racing games. Its not even the least bit used to its potential. OH LOOK AN EXPLOSION, LETS RUMBLE THE CONTROLLER REALLY HARD. That was the most annoying thing about rumble. There isnt one game on the market that used it well, thats why it never made it to the PC. The Force feedback mouse was a complete failure.

why does it look like your going sooooooo ssssllllloooooowwwwww in the video? look when the guy has to come to a complete stop and then start again, he's blasting nitrous and it's still accelerating slow as hell. hopefully that's just a slow car from the beginning of the game or something.
by - 2007-02-14 14:39:28
ahahaha

Here's a guy that tries to insult someone by insinuating that they're gay whilst insinuating himself to be gay. And then attempts to insult other people by calling "noobs" NOOBS! That's like branding someone as a poo poo head! Think not down upon vietones boyfriend, but praise him for bringing this comedy into our lives. Someone so inane can't possibly legitimately mean anything he says.

on rumble

I'm kind of confused about rumble technology. So is the rumble used in the 360 and Wii controller completely different than that used in the Dualshock? I always thought it was just a set of unbalanced spinning weights. How is it that it would be copyright infringement if the Sony guys used this again? Also, is the rumble used in 3rd party controllers a different technology to? I mean, in order for all these to not infringe upon each other patents, then I would imagine they would have to be significantly different, but I thought all rumble technology was essentially the same stuff. So what exactly was so special about the Dualshock rumble? Anyone that can clarify this for me will be cool.

WTF are you talking about?

Rumble? There's no rumble. What does your post have to do with anything related to this story? Sixaixis, yes. Another yahoo, who doesn't own the hardware or s/w, trying to inject his opinion into something they know nothing about.

This isn't what you should get this game for...

The game? It's not about racing, online, the tracks, graphics, or anything like that. I'm not buying this game for any of that crap. I'm buying it for how outrageously silly big crashes look. In the demo, I ran straight up a wall, over-boosted, and exploded right off my motorcycle, came down on a slow-down sign so hard, the game glitched and half my body was going through the sign, jiggling. And the fact that you go in slo-mo makes the game completely worth getting. So the lesson?: Don't get the game for online modes or even the gameplay, buy it for the silly, outrageous, slo-mo crashes!
