Right after posting about Fight Night Round 4's free DLC, I'm afraid I can't say the same about Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe (PS3, Xbox 360), which won't get anything downloadable at all. News comes by way of Twitter, fresh from MK master Ed Boon's page.

Well, one good thing about the Tweet is that Ed Boon sort of updates us that Mortal Kombat 9 is coming along well, and Warner Bros. seems to be handling the buyout well.

...and? So what?

Don't tell me I'm the only one who thinks that a game doesn't need DLC... DLC is a perk to people with internet access, money, and next-gen consoles, not a requirement. Welcome to 2005 and before. Where we got our games to play the game, not unlock acheivements, cuss people out on PSN and Live, and splooge our e-peens with our amazing $10 alternate costumes.

» i agree entirely

DLC not needed, the game is fine as is.

i will enjoy having the game and knowing i have the complete experience without having to worry about spending more money or DRM BS...

» no no no...

A perk? If a dev releases a $10.00 expansion that adds another 20 hours of gameplay, I say it's worth it. No way that's a friggin perk. It's an advancement and this isn't new to gaming at all, this has been going on since the 90s with PC gaming. Don't like DLC, or online play, then don't utilize it, it's simple.

To this- glad to hear MK9 is coming along well.

» @ naroon

tell me what kind of addon for MKvsDC would of added 20hrs of playtime?

another character or two? new outfits? seriously?

i don't consider a DLC a perk so much as a requirement to get the full experience. so i'm glad i don't have to spend more money to get that.

if you were defending DLC overall... then give it a rest. that was a proactive assault on all the ppl sure to whine about no DLC... no one disputes the potential value of some DLC, but not all of it is as value adding as you portray it to be.

he didn't complain about all the new facets of gaming, he was just making a commentary about kids and gaming culture these days.

» spoiled...

24 characters is plenty... the game could of had 50 poorly balanced characters and i'm sure you wouldn't have liked that either.

you want an insane amount of characters, use mugen and you can even make your own.

and you really don't look cool posting crap like that, just immature and stupid.

Learn to read, kid. I didn't reference MK vs DC at all in my post. He was obviously talking about DLC overall unless he's too much of a commoner to be more specific. Not "value-adding"? How is 20+hours of new gameplay not a good value?

Jesus, you commoners these days astound me with your lack of logic.

» Some games need DLC and some don't

It depends on the game and on the developers choice. You guys sound like a bunch of whining kids. Some people here need to get a hobby or something productive, instead of posting crap everywhere even on the official PS forums.

Says the commoner who just posted "crap" right here in this article. You can't be that intelligent to assume that we all sit here, refreshing the page every 2 seconds just to reply to a blog. Tsk tsk tsk, oh well.

» im still waiting

for the game to go down in price.

$70 is too much imo. maybe $40, but not $70 that they want now.
