New screenshots have emerged from one of the PlayStation 3 launch titles - Resistance: Fall of Man. The game is a first-person shooter from veteran developer Insomniac Games, that takes place in 1951 on an alternate Earth that luckily never had a World War II, but instead faced a greater threat in the form of an alien menace called 'The Chimera' who have disposed of most of the world's population (they were in fact former humans themselves). These aliens range from roughly human size to much smaller sizes. There are also those on the opposite end of the scale - meaning some are "building-sized."

Resistance: Fall of Man, as previously stated, will be one of the PlayStation3 launch titles, so expect its release on November of this year.

...the only person who is missing bumb mapping, more high-res textures (especially on the ground) and better shadow effets?

...doesn't say anything about gameplay (and that's still the most important thing for a game) though.

Please be aware that this is work in progress and lighting effects and full shader effects have not been turn on. Please also be aware that all these screenshots are from two levels in the beginning only. So you have yet to see the other Chimeras.

looks pretty good I guess, I always say you have to see it in motion on a tv to know how it truly looks, but it looks like a fun game

Well if it's a release game, they should pretty much have a final product right now, and be working on the fine tuning before going gold, which would be at least 3wks before it ships, meaning only about 3 months of actual development time left.

So yeah, the game does look like ass, I suppose that does have no bearing on the gameplay, but then why did you pay so much for the system ?

About not having Shaders and bump-mapping "turned on", well they better do it soon, as those effects can cause a huge drop in framerate as well as a mirriad of other problems, and 3 months is not alot of time to trouble shoot such things....anyways, it's going to be a sub-par game you could find anywhere else, or they will delay it....
