Echochrome - Image 1

So, in a world currently dominated by high-def this and high-def that, can a game that boasts only black and white graphics make it big? That's what Sony's Echochrome (PS3, PSP) will try to answer.

Judging by what we've seen and heard about this deceptively simple-looking puzzler, however, it looks like that won't be too much of an uphill battle. From the minimalist art to the title's puzzling gameplay itself, this title should fit right in with the other titles in a gamer's library.

Anyway, to keep interest in the game riding high (and to appease those who were disappointed by the lack of a demo on the Euro PSN, perhaps), Sony Computer Entertainment has released all-new screenshots from their austere masterpiece. Enjoy.

1. Yes.

2. It's already been answered.

Nintendo and the PC have clearly proven it's about game PLAY and not just game LOOKS.

» errr....

the wii if fun but it's useless for games that needs the graphics to express the emotions of the characters, like in the final fantasies, or in the quantic dream's games. Graphics is not only for sports games you know, it can really be usefull. I mean, in final fantasy 10, it was the 1st time you could really see the emotions of the characters, and it was the first time I found a game that looked credible enough to make you feel something.

And for PC, where did a PC become non-graphics? I mean, the PC is the most graphical console in the world... And nothing special on PC for gameplay...

PS: I don't have a wii, but I own a ps3, for more complex games. I'm not the kind to play shooters, but not the kind to play wii tennis alone too. I'd play with friends at the wii box, but the no-brainers are not for me.

PPS: Echocrome is looking great, but it's not because there is no graphic.

"Graphics is not only for sports games you know"

Who said it was? Of course we also "want" high end graphics. That's besides the point.

"And for PC, where did a PC become non-graphics?"

Sales figures for $10-$20 downloadable games make up for a larger percentage of sales then Crysis level games. Those are primarily flash based games.

"PPS: Echocrome is looking great, but it's not because there is no graphic. "

That's not the point exactly. You're looking at it all wrong. It's not going to be a hit because there are NO graphics, it's going to be a hit REGARDLESS of the graphics. That's completely different.
