Square Enix's much-anticipated next installment to the popular Final Fantasy franchise is most definitely looking good. Set in a high-tech futuristic world, Final Fantasy XIII seems to lean more toward action-oriented real-time gameplay than most of the previous Final Fantasy games.

Final Fantasy XIII is part of the Fabula Nova Crystallis ("the new tale of the crystal" for all of us Latin-impaired) series. The other games in the series are Final Fantasy Agito XIII for mobile phones and Final Fantasy Versus XIII for the PS3. While all three games take place in the same universe, they are not directly related.

» cannot read chinese letters

But apparently, even Japanese are surprised at how much the franchise has changed.

"Why is FF13 on PS3"

"What kind of game is it becoming"

"many different themes"

I'm only first year Jap, so I can't decipher what the other pages are saying, but they are trying to delve into the little information they have(such as the HiQ art) to predict what the game is going to be.

About AGITO, which is the mobile version, which I don't think will reach us ever:'(

"13 is also the secret of the Clock" as in, roman numerals

"What kind of school drama(a genre that centers on school) is it going to be"

and "three worlds" meaning 13, VS13 and Agito

that's all I can decipher, with the low Q scan.

so sad:'(

» Best looking next-gen game

This is the type of a game that makes you buy a system, you feel the power of PS3 just by looking at screens.

» i still watch that trailer too

i love the idea of such a flash looking final fantasy! god it could be amazing... i loved ffx, just cos it really did what i had hoped a ps2 game could do, there is so much in that game (if you have the international/uk version).

and so i reckon squeenix can step up and show us what a real nextgen game looks like. and let's not forget mgs4 either, that will rock just as hard

but without e3 are places like squeenix even going to bother to make promo videos and things?! perhaps sony can do a US playstation convention... or better still, uk!

i'm still itching to get my hands on ff12... it's torture!

I hope they push the PS3 limits with this game. If they haven't and it looks like this already then I bow to the Gods!
