Sony is now starting to stir up some hype for MLB 11 The Show, and apart from the game itself, they have other stuff lined up to make you want that purchase even more. If you're a baseball fan, then you might be interested in what those would be.

Before anything else, Sony Computer Entertainment announced that Joe Mauer will once again be the game's cover artist. This year, the Minnesota Twins' all-star all-arounder got his third consecutive Gold Glove, his 1,000th Major League career hit, finished third in the AL with a batting average of .327, and his 43 doubles that put him on second on the all-time doubles records for catchers. Yep, he's a guy you want on your team, and apparently, so does Sony.

Sony is also happy to report a first impressions review of the game from ESPN. According to writer Jon Robinson, "MLB 11 The Show is anything but a roster update. In fact, this might be the biggest jump in terms of both control and gameplay enhancements the series has ever attempted in a single year."
