Mirror's Edge parties it up with world's best DJs for Remix Album |
Ó
"Are you kidding me??!?" These were the words that came out of my mouth as soon as I read Electronic Arts' press release on the upcoming Remix Album for (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3).There sure are a lot of cause for me to be happily surprised with this album, you see. And thank God they weren't kidding, too. Because while it's nothing new to find artists and rock bands collaborating with game developers for soundtracks, this is the first I've heard of DJs giving their spin for a game album. And not just any DJs, but the best there is.
Steve Schnur, Worldwide Executive of Music and Marketing for EA, says of the album:
A groundbreaking videogame demands and equally provocative theme song. We've taken an unprecedented approach to this track, bringing together several of the world's top remixers to create an album that will not only cross genres and borders, but also redefine how great new music can be delivered to th world.
- Benny Benassi
- Junkie XL
- Paul van Dyk
- Teddybears
- Armand Van Helden
Mirror's Edge Remix Album will have its worldwide digital release on November 11th, to be made in conjunction with t he game's launch on November 14th. And for those folks who'll grab a pre-order copy of the game at Best Buy in the U.S., you can also then pick up a music CD containing the theme song to Mirror's Edge and with an exclusive remix by Benassi.
And since am sure most of you guys out there (like Chris C.) have no idea what the fuss is all about, here's a little van Dyk tutorial. This video here should give you a good idea and feel for the Album remix that'll come your way for DICE's Mirror's Edge.

Hope it turns out as kewl as the "gimmick" sounds.
Go Sweden!
Actually i'm proud of being swedish now. :)
Seem as though they may have one great dj on that list. Armand van helden. I would figure they might have gotten Tiesto or lisa Lashes maybe even The great one himself, Timo Maus. How about talking to me the next time they make a soundtrack....
