Ouch. I felt that from here. And it isn't even online yet. - Image 1

The big favorite among the set of classic games Midway Games gave SOE the rights to bring to the PlayStation Network definitely is Mortal Kombat II... and how. So before we present some screens of MKII, Gauntlet II, Championship Sprint, Joust, and Rampart recently released to Gamespot, let's head over and see what Gamespot has to say about a preview version of MKII first.
  • The updated game still "wasn't" online, though an online-capable version should go into testing soon. Hopefully the past tense Gamespot used means that the final release should be the online version. Hopefully that answers your question, jp.
  • Button layout is set up in the traditional configuration, says Gamespot. They also say that the visuals and gameplay make this conversion "one of the best conversions of MKII" they've seen yet.
  • To answer everyone who asked on pricing, starting with Demon Slayer, SOE reps confirmed that each title will go for US$ 4.99, and should hit the PlayStation Store in the "next few months" (no specifics on dates). Beats popping in quarter after quarter to see endings, right? Okay, the screens beckon.

Wow, thanks for answering my question. It's cool to see that you guys really do care enough to read the comments. ;-D This will definitely be worth my $4.99 if it's a direct port of the arcade version. The closest they've gotten to a direct port that I know of is the MAT2 version but, due to the addition of a pause menu, you couldn't fight Smoke in that version. MKII was also an unlockable in MK:SM, but I think it still had the Smoke problem. Also, does anyone know what's up with those blue borders? Will we have the option to make it fullscreen?

$4.99 each...

Hmm... I think that this might be a very difficult decision for myself at least... I think I may have to wait for full reviews and all that kinda stuff... expensive for such old games without bumped up gfx
