Xbox 360 launched in the europe in December 2005. Playstation 3 launched in europe March 2007. If they are only 1 million units ahead then they are going to be surpassed pretty easily over the next year.

Yeah, I realize that. But for the reasons that I outlined above, how can the numbers really mean anything? (Other than a gauge on how much MS and Sony have lost on the hardware sales, or for trash talk/trolling fodder.)

With a 2 year head start, 1 million doesn't say much.

I always refer to an independent chart. vgchartz uses resellers stats to compile an aproximation of sales. Might not be 100% accurate, but they do have numbers.

Im one of a billion people that ran out of the warranty and had to purchase a NEW 360 TWICE. (went through 4 total since launch). So how many people have done this besides me? another reason why they have greater numbers.

remember piracy is always a factor. PS3 can't be flashed to custom firmware or modded. But xbox can. So xbox sell more because of that.. isn't everyone that can buy original games at high prices like they sell ps3 games.

Either way, I dont think you have any evidence to support your statement. PS3 is capable of many things the 360 is not. If we're "D-bags" for wanting increased functionality, compatability, stability, features, reliability... I guess im just a D-bag then and your the smart one.

A true gamer will get the taste of both world! all i see is how people bag on microsoft xbox 360 and how ps3 is better! let me say Xbox 360 is a great machine in many ways, tons of players to play online, xbox marketplace has tons of things for downloads, (twice more than psn), in-game music off your hard drive while gaming! (listen to some Hardcore Rap or metal while sniping headz on gears of war multiplayer, freakin' awesome!) Netflix with tons of movies and shows to view, that is great especially sharing movies with a party,! on ps3 no longer supports hulu.com (bummer)! party chat mode is the best feature they brought to xbox, be able to party up wit up 8 friends online to chat while playing your favorite game or movies while your buddies as well do there own thang! Sweet... alot of ps3 games are actually hand me downs from the xbox 360 like, Bioshock a year later on ps3, c'mon! xbox also has great exclusives, fable 2, game of the year edition, not to mention halo 3 which im not a big fan off but great multiplayer game, fallout 3 with all expansions, which ps3 will get later (c'mon)! xbox been there done that! I also have a ps3 and i gotta say im no xbox fan but for the time i spent on xbox consoleover ps3 i just can imagine why my xbox will eventually get RROD! ps3 is great but only good for Blu ray flicks, because honestly there is not much of a hardcore difference in graphics...they both good! unless ya like to spend more time in a game looking at the floor and saying wow ps3 has better polished graphics! personally i bought gta4 game on ps3 and xbox like when consoles were at war to see what had better graphics and personally i gotta admit xbox 360 had better graphics and ps3 were a lil blurry! enough tho, ps3 is good but xbox just delivers more fun! and if ya sit there and listen to your fans to see how quiet they are is because maybe your not busy gaming instead your in shock ya got a ps3 and cant believe it! because the new xbox 360 fans are not a loud as they used to be! especially im so busy having fun on it i cant hear my fans but just game audio busting fools online everyday! xbox definitely wins!

Pirating games for ps3 would be a waste because

1) It would take too much time downloading almost 25gbs of game data.

2)you will need a blu-ray burner

3) Blu ray discs which costs like $10

i can't lie at the beinning the ps3 suck bad.but its about were we at now and its not stopping the ps3 is a far more better system today then that RROD box you call a gaming system bionicgizmo so keep playing till you ***** burns out keep giving microsoft your money just like nintendo with there bulls#it consoles.

the Xbox 360 has been known to have a lot more pop in than the PS3. It made driving for me on the Xbox 360 at high speeds for long times practically impossible since I would hit a car after a while due to pop in. Though I did have fun with it to test my reflexes. I would just go speeding and see how many cars I can dodge before I smash into a car.

I play pretty close to my Xbox so I can hear it and I don't really have my audio high because I am considerate about the people around me but it is pretty high especially after MS fixed my RRoD. The Xbox before fix was pretty quiet but still noticeable but compared ot the PS3 it is loud. The only sound I can hear from my PS3 is a that clicking noise which I think is the Blu Ray Drive. After MS fixed my RRoD I have no idea what they did but I think they turned the fan up because when I turned it on it sounded like a Jet Engine and it actually made my desk vibrate. I sold that one for a newer Falcon chip one when I had the chance cause it was just unbearable.

As a former PS3 d-bag, here's what you bought...

You bought a BR-player attached to a server, but the server doesn't have the memory a normal server needs. So, if your wondering why the PS3 freezes (and has forced installs and plays ports poorly) and why they have those mini-updates to reconfigure the firmware so the damn thing won't blow up. Now, you know. It is also why they switched to the 45nm chips (which may help the heat issue) but not the memory problem.



Now, for RROD, the Xbox 360 is a game system that was initially using cheap parts. However, cheap parts can be improved. When the overall design is flawed (as in the PS3), it means anyone who buys a PS3 now...is a D-bag. And, you deserve the little you get. LMAO!

Are you serious right now? WHAT memory problem? the PS3 uses XDR memory for the CPU that is faster then the 360s GDDR3 memory. The memory can be shared, making it equivalent to 512mb. Why the heck would you compare a PS3 to a server? who serves anything with their PS3. PS3 failure rates are no where near 360s, so you got it a$$ backwards.

Crackdown was awesome.....when you were driving around you would have all these floated seating figures comming at you all the time....then their car would pop-in just as they started to pass you and go off screen.....was funny.
