With so much mystery still looming around the rumored PS3 Slim and a possible PS3 price drop announcement, Microsoft's Xbox Euro VP Chris Lewis believes the Xbox 360 is still in a good place in the console race. According to Lewis, any announcement from their opposition won't disrupt their plan, which is also rumored to include countering Sony's move with a price cut of its own.Lewis told game industry site MCV that:
We are in a good place in terms of the value we offer. We have a plan and a rhythm we are marching to – and we won’t be knocked off that cadence in terms of what the opposition might do.

Let me guess, RRoD 2? Xbox LIVE price raise?
A PS3 price cut means more people will buy more PS3s. More fan base. More and more people will then know that PS3 is better than 360. Who cares if 360 gets a price cut. Even developers are starting to say that the PS3 is better. So it's only a matter of time.
Yes, many more PS3 sold, which would be great (and long overdue), but better than 360? That's subjective. And to be honest I don't really care what developers say any more, I just want to see their games. The Ghostbusters developer said all kinds of things about how they've mastered the PS3, and how the PS3 version would be twice as good if it was exclusive, and how they prefer the PS3 blah blah blah, and yet the 360 version turned out be be the better version. The PS3 is fantastic though, so I can't wait to see the slim version when it comes out (but hope they don't drop any features for it).
I had no idea that MS was planning on even continuing the Xbox 360 after PS3 had a price drop... The fact that they have "a plan" is just insanity!! MS definitely has their stuff together and the fact that they're planning shows it. Who would have ever thought that they were looking towards the future!?

Is probably better looking on the 360, but there's motion sensing on the PS3 which makes it a little better experience for me.
I have both versions and the one on Wii.

As always, it's about the dollar. Which I don't blame them. That's what business is all about. But in this case it will be SONY making the first decent move FOR the customer. MS will follow suit ONLY if they have to.

MS was actually one of the many people that keep persisting Sony to give PS3 a price cut so I think they really do have a plan.
yea M$ will "lower" the Elite's price to the pro version... we already know that right?... but if sony lowers the ps3 price it has to be at least the price to match the x360 pro... not just fkn $50 off... more like $100 or $150 if its possible
A PS3 pricecut will boost PS3 units sold, obviously, by a ton. I don't think Microsoft cares because their install base is already huge, and they have enough money to throw around that losing a bit of money at the expense of getting ahead of the other consoles doesn't bother them as much. I don't know anyone who has been holding out on getting a 360 waiting for it to go below it's already low price tag, I know a ton of people waiting for the PS3 price to drop. As far as plans go, I don't really know, last time they had a "plan" was when they commented how Killzone 2 was great, but they had something better coming out...which so far the only thing I can get out of that plan was of course, the unveiling of two more Halo games...so I'm hoping that they aren't getting *****y because so far the only counters I've seen to PS3 competition have been releasing more Halo games.
I know their plan, just throw more money at devs and putting xboxes inside soda dispensers so you can get one for a dollar and buy another as soon as it breaks, viva the disposable xboxes.
the only way i see sony coming out of their bad times with ps3 is to introduce a slim which is profitable and making PSN MUCH more better and making us pay for it. They dont have the sales they wanted and are making a loss of it.We will have to see how forza 3 or halo reach is when it comes out. Microsoft can easily counter this by reducing the prices of the accessories (HDD.wifi, etc). But sony's best exclusive game (MGS) is now coming to xbox (which was one of the only reasons some people bought a PS3).Microsoft was even able to overcome blurays advantage by introducing 1080p

First off, get your facts straight. PS3's best game (only an opinion), MGS4, IS NOT going to 360, and it never will. Secondly, people did not buy a PS3 for MGS: Rising, they bought it for MGS4(which is NOT going to 360) and because PS3 is kickass. Also, the day Microsoft copies...err... i mean develops a disk that can hold 50gigs or more of data is the day that microsoft will "overcome"(rofl, yea right) bluray. Until then Microsoft hasnt done anything.
Microsoft CAN give away 360s and still make profit, they have so much money its not funny...

Regarding the comments made here (and in a lot other threads on this site and many other sites) about Microsoft having absurd amounts of money which they can just throw at anything etc..etc.. I have just looked on a certain encyclopedia website which has figures to show that Sony is a bigger company and has more financial assets and revenue than Microsoft. I realize that it is possible the figures mentioned could be incorrect but i would think it is reasonable to assume they are fairly accurate.

After new Galactica came out.. I can't help but think of the cylons whenever it mentions someone "has a plan" ;)
but people like good games, and ps3 has tons of epic games. i mean im not saying 360 has all ***** games but look at how many good games ps3 has. seriously. i mean if 360 and ps3 cost the same (which they pretty much do, but people still dont get how -_-) ps3 flat out takes the win. and ive been saying the same thing for almost 3 years now...the ps3 is very powerful and it packs more games under its belt, but its not going to rush all its good games out at once because that would mean *****ing the customers over in the future. i think if 360 and ps3 came out at the same time ps3 would be far ahead, and lets face it it has almost caught up to xbox.(sales wise) game wise i think we all know who wins
The xbox 360 is still ahead (saleswise). I mean if you looked at vgchartz the 360 outsells PS3 worldwide every month and even beat the PS3 on 2008 holidays (saleswise). So I think the PS3 will never catch up to the 360 until they release a PS3 slim or a low priced ps3.
Now gamewise, how does PS3 wins(gamewise)? You mean PS3 getting KZ2 and its amazing graphics? I admit KZ2 has amazing graphics but seriously, thats all it has.

Sony isn't going to cut prices because they want to do it "for the customer" but because they're not getting the sales numbers they want. It's all a calculated plan to increase sales on both hardware and software.

Well, in ISOHaven's defense...Sony has been losing money since the launch of the PS3, the PS3 could have had a higher price tag than it already was marked at, but Sony decided (whether for the customer or not) to lower the tag and with that also lose a couple hundred dollars.
I mean, I bought it at the $600 tag. I wasn't complaining. It's a quality media center.
This reminds me of when I helped my friend move from CA to NM. Uhaul wanted us to shell out about 1K for the truck, we left saying that was too much and that Penske offered half that. The guy then told us he'll give us that price. We were like WTF??

There are some leaked arts that clues that game main Character IS GRAY FOX HIMSELF!
Also another clues gives idea that its something like Remake of original Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake from MSX but with alternative point of view by GRAY FOX - this remind me Half Life Blue shif by valve + same black mesa but now we play Barny and not Freeman, so i really believe this one is metal gear one and metal gear two.
It also rumored as MGS 5 by some peoples!

I couldn't care less, I hated MGS4, let the Xbots have a crumby series like MGS, all I want is that downloadable content from GTAIV.
I have MGS4 that a friend gave me and I still havnt played it. I seen it played and it didnt seem like my type of play. GTA4 got kinda boreing to me half way through, so I dont care about DLC. Infamous reminded me of GTA4 except you were a badass and had an RPG style. Fanboys of every type always want what the other person has... just like the grass is always greener on the other side blah blah. I cant think of anything the 360 has that I would want though. I love Killzone 2 as my shooter, Infamous as my open world game, played LBP for a while... wasnt that great IMO but it burned time. Besides that, any other game the 360 has I just download it and play it on PC. So there's kind of no reason for myself to get a 360.

@Orlyeh - Obviously you are wrong. Their sales have been anywhere from stead to declining since day one. They have rarely ever seen an incline in sales. So if what you say is true, they would have done as such a LONG time ago.

I have GameFly and used it to get the PS3 version. I read that the 360 version was the one to buy and got it. Then I got the PS3 version from gamefly and found that the extra sixaxis functions added another layer to the fun. I now wish I would have got the graphically inferior version for more interaction.
