Microsoft on PlayStation Home delay: Sony will struggle |

In light of the announcement about PlayStation Home's delay until next year, the guys at Pocket-lint decided to find out what Microsoft thinks about it. They caught John Rooke, Microsoft UK Marketing Manager for second and third party Xbox 360 games, at the Tokyo Game Show to catch a comment.
"I think Sony will struggle," said Rooke. Microsoft doesn't seem all that worried, if Rooke's comment is anything to go by. Their own Xbox Live service is still flourishing with 7.1 million users and they don't have any intention of stopping. "We hope to have 10 million users online by E3," he stated.
When asked how the multiplayer service achieved such popularity, Rooke said:
Lots of people complained when we launched Xbox Live about our rigorous standards, but it has meant that now we can offer a complete service that works every time, for everyone.

I think Microsoft should concentrate them self on what they will do in 2008. Because when Sony start this November it wont be stop! After halo3 it's over for them. Sony know when to strike....I hope! Because if Sony doesn't deliver after Halo3 it's over ..FOR...THEM! Anyway, just buy both and you won't have to be worry any more. Wow... this was crap writing... It's better if I continue playing Heavenly Sword and try to finish it in hell mode... or bioshock or warhawk or NHL08 or...
Razgoull, why is is that sony fans are so rabid? look sony has made a lot of mistakes since launch and the delays are making the market more impatient with the system. not only that but there is not much 3rd party support for games. i would love to get a ps3, there is just simply nothing to justify the cost right now. 3 reasons not enough games they're going to drop the price again in the next 3-4 months they are going to include the dual shock 3 in the packaging basically there is no incentive to buy until next year at least
Only the diehard sony fans have picked up PS3's....or those that want a cheap blu-ray player. Other critically minded, smart folks know they will buy one eventually, but only once the situation is better....which seems to be mid 2008 to early 2009. Lair and heavenly sword didn't do it...drakes fortune won't do it....home is delayed.....and the system will only get cheaper...so why buy now ?
ps3 has crappy software for now 360 has crappy hardware for now wii has crappy online for now lol make your choice, choose the system that will gather dust, break, or not react to social gaming? or simply wait it out... lol anyway the statement from microsoft was uncalled for, specialy since the home open beta is on its old release date...but whatever, what goes around comes around....because thats 360 degrees lol
I'm with you for almost all of your arguments, but next year minimum? not sure at all. I'll buy mine with assassin's creed, with or without the price drop (not sure about that statement, lol, I'll surely wait for the holiday price drop (or bundle)). Anyway, the games are packing really fast. I mean, I wasn't interrested in the ps3's games back in june, and now I'm fully into it, lol. And I lost all my interrest in the xbox 360 since blue dragon got a really low score and eternal sonata is on ps3 next january... anyway, I'll have my PS3 MAXIMUM for MGS4 launch, that's for sure. And I don't think they're gonna bundle the dual shock 3.. maybe in mid-2k8 (minimum) but it's not soon I suppsoe (unless they bundle it for the holidays, dunno). But anyway, I suppose that the ps3 OR the x360 are too high priced, so it's only fans, and fans can pay for a bunch of GREAT games. so the consoles will sell anyway, I mean, the xbox360 sold at the same price right? or even higher with the elite :S And for what games? I already have them on vista with better graphics... :S anyway, Halo 3 sounds good and I'm jealous of the x owners that can play eternal right now, that's all. Wii is fun but I'm not into casual gaming, I love JRPGs! that's why I love the playstation brand! :D Anyway, everybody's right, buy wathever you want soon or later, it won't change a thing, buy soon if you want the games now (I'll buy for assassin's creed and the linup that'll follow) :D
Wii doesn't exactly have a stellar lineup. The major review sites (ie: metacritic, gamelemon, gamerankings .com) all rate it's library lower than PS3s

Their xbox design is whats keeping them from making sales this gen, not to mention there Japan, Australia and Europe markets aren't that hig for 360. If MS doesn't make adjustments and get high sales in those area's MS is not going to win this gen, they are practically doing worse than last gen. Oh and btw Sony will get the games i mean the summer drought is over and the games these next few months will kick the PS3 into gear, also im also going to be getting an 360 to play halo 3 and NG2 so don't even think of calling me a Sony fanboy.
Yeah i do see the irony in that, MS should not focus on Sony so much, they should be focus on themselves. Of course some people on Sony's end say the same and Nintendo but still.
ok first of all, i never even mentioned M$ in my post, i was talking about sony strictly! But your right, if M$ didn't have the hardware issues there would barely be a PS3 right now. That set them back a billion dollars (god i wish i could lose a billion dollars and not flinch) but i digress. fact - M$ acquired many of the third party developers that made the ps2 so popular and them rushing the hardware like they did is the reason they are on top right now. fact - the ps3's architecture is much more complicated for developing games so you'll only see sony's games looking better then 360 titles if that. fact - 3rd parties are already comfortable with the 360 so there is no learning curve and M$ is giving the developers EVERYTHING they need to make their games the way they want UNLIKE sony. i love sony, ps2 was/is the *****! but they *****ed up this time around b/c they wanted to force B-ray on everyone. did you know that made the system $150 - $200 more expensive? and NO you don't need it for games. M$ proved that with down loadable content, which costs less and puts less stress on the hardware.
seriously, the man said five words and he was probably asked the question! it's not like they held a sony sucks press conference to say ooooooo home is delayed! the fact of the matter is sony is struggling and their online service is minimal at best. when people see how easy it is to use xbl and then they look at sony and nintendo the choice is clear. home is supposed to change that and the longer it takes to come out, the further behind sony will be...
he probably means struggling with sony online part as they are by far more inexperienced than ms and xbl
therefore they are able to concentrate only the xbot. And all they have is the xbot. It's not even that good of a system, that was actually an overstatement.....It is almost guarantee defective a day, week, or month down the line. I am so tire of xbots always always begging others to buy an xbot telling them to put faith in M$, MY ASS. next thing you know everyone elses xbots are a brick. That's what you xbots deserve for not doing your homework and blinding putting faith in a company that just copies from others (vista) and tried to force every company in competition with it out of business...I seems more like a mafia corporation if you ask me. Faith and respect and royalities are earned. not force to others. sony has earn every one of it from me....but for you xbots fanboys you just go beggin others to buy a xbot knowing full well in the back of your head that it will break. I know you are always uncertain about if and when your xbot will break. Even with the sorry wanna be elite so bad the named it elite. Its like a person wanna be god and calls himself god and forces everyone to worship him as a god. WTF M$. would anyone in here buy 1/3 of a car only with one wheel missing. Would you buy morning coffee with a hole in the cup leaking boiling hot on your skin. would you take a pill to cure what ever condition you have or just wanna be beautiful and be told 66% of people have died from this. AS far as I am concern. M$ doesn't even have a system in my book of common sense. Its not even a whole system. Oh yeah to stress my point will you shoot your self with a gun or shot gun if they said your medical bills will be cover. xbot is not even a real material. buy a piece of metal. today it will spark tomorrow it will not. but it is a great item so please please buy( and sacrafice yourself for the sake of M$)
The fact is your a pro xbox fanboy, Sony didn't screw up. They are playing there game and it looks like there doing great. I mean they already sold 6 million worldwide more than any PS system in there first year. Sony are perfectly fine.
