Microsoft and Sony are currently taking measures to strengthen their market base in Korea. Microsoft Korea is seen promoting their partnership with CJ Joycube with regards to the domestic marketing and distribution of the Xbox 360. Sony Computer Entertainment Korea (SCEK) on the other hand has signed an exclusive contract with NetSecure
Technology Inc. EnterOne Corp. in preparation for their region's PlayStation 3 release.Microsoft is taking advantage of the one year head start it has by further entrenching itself in the market through new game releases. Sony has decided to counter this move by allowing EnterOne to run a "business to rent 'PS2', 'PlayStation Portable (PSP)' through video, [and] DVD rentals."
A Microsoft Korea spokesperson on their marketing plans in Korea: "as Xbox360 is doing well in the market, partnership with CJ Joycube has been positively evaluated." Now, the word on the street is that there have been over 100,000 Xbox 360s sold since its launch last February 2006. Microsoft has neither confirmed nor denied this but they're planning on releasing an annual review regarding this soon.
Now the question remains, who will be the dominant market share holder in Korea? The country is known for having a very strong gaming population so whoever can secure this front will be assured of a very good financial turnout.

Also, Koreans have a sense of a grudge against Japan after Japan invaded and made a ton of their women into prostitutes for their soldiers. However, a lot of Japanese people LOVE Koreans, and even go on tours to Korea specifically to find a Korean husband/wife.
