Just hours after the launch of Madden NFL 10 (Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, PSP, PC, PS2
last week, Michael Vick was signed to a two-year contract with the
Philadelphia Eagles. EA Sports is now working on rushing the Vick
addition into the game to mark the NFL star's comeback into the game.EA Sports spokesperson Rob Semsey told Kotaku:
We are currently working with the NFL and NFLPA on approvals and details regarding the addition of Michael Vick to the Philadelphia Eagles roster in Madden NFL 10. We are hopeful to make an announcement in the near future.
Semsey also added later that Michael Vick will be added to the next roster update for the game, provided of course that the NFL and the NFL Players Association approves, in light of his ineligibility issues. Vick remains ineligible until Week 6 of the NFL Season and pending NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell's decision to reinstate the former Falcons QB.
The roster update is coming August 19th, 2009, for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions, so we can expect an announcement very soon if Vick will make that deadline. Other platforms will be making their respective updates later.

What I still dont understand is why Americans call a game that for the majority of the time the player carries the ball.. football?
Vick was at least my favorite football player up to his dogfighting ring. (that's when I said don't trust him, and hoped he got the death sentence. Dogs are man's best friend, not moneymakers.) I always played the Falcons in ESPN NFL 2K5 due to him, in first person mode. Ah, good times...

Yet when Donte' Stallworth kills an innocent pedestrian who was crossing the street because he was driving intoxicated, and only gets 30 days in prison and will most likely playing football in a couple months, people don't care because it wasn't a dog. We value the lives of animals more than the lives of humans I see. If Vick had killed a man he would have been better off.

I play soccer in the US (easy to pick up and there are lost of league here), but rather watch football then basketball, baseball. Soccer on tv is just running back and forth like hockey. The camera don't zoom and get close like in the other sport. I also rather play softball or baseball, better skill set. Hitting a ball, catching running and diving. In the US the best atheletes play football or basketball then baseball. The smaller weaker pro players play soccer and you get paid less on the pro level, because people don't care as much.

I just get tired of watching soccer games that end in 0 0 or 1 0 or 2 1. My older brother is a HUGE soccer fan, and I grew up watching soccer games when he took control of the TV. There are more actors in soccer than in all of Hollywood and Bollywood combined. Most teams have guys that flop on the ground like a fish out of water every time someone even sneezes in their direction. I think its lack of balls that Americans gravitate away from. Americans look up to strength and power which is why we like our violence. Soccer just doesn't cut it because its about finesse. There are too many twinkle toed cry babies in the game. Yes Football is an odd choice for a game that has a person carrying a ball with its hands, but also by that logic soccer should be called "Make the ref think you're hurt so the other guy gets a card... oh yeah and maybe score a goal if you're lucky."

I dont think anyone cares what goes on in the middle east. I care about what goes on over here in the U.S. im sure that you'd rather have a kid hen a dog. if you are a true middle eastern person you'll have them strapped with bombs and AK's before their 5th birthday.
Also, Vick got 23 months in prison. 1 month in house arrest, not a year and a half.

Ok, im going to be the a-hole here when I come out and say straight up that I thought your post was funny. It made me laugh... obviously if he's back in the NFL and Eagle fans will support him, then its over and done with and we are able to enjoy a good joke about it. Maybe my minds just twisted for thinking the above post was funny as hell.

Vick is an outstanding football player and he has paid his dues.
He went from being NFL superstar to going broke, going to prison for 23 months(1 month in prison is bad enough if you know how prison works), staying away from his wife, kids, and family.
I think most, if not all of us have never experienced what he went through. Sure he did a horrible act, but he paid his dues to society plus he is actively involved in animal rights as a requirement for joining the Eagles.
Who are we to judge? Let God judge him when the time comes.
Also, Donte Stallworth KILLED a HUMAN, yet he isn't getting ANYWHERE the bad mouth Vick is getting. So are you guys saying a dog is more important then a human?
