MGS4 now the second-highest rating exclusive this generation

If you're the kind of gamer who fancies review stats, here's an interesting one for you: Konami and Kojima Productions' Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is now the second-highest rated game when it comes to console exclusive titles this generation.

That's if Metacritic's compilation of review scores is to be made the basis. MGS4 averages a wicked 95 percent across the board, bowing only to Super Mario Galaxy for the Nintendo Wii which racked up 97 percent.

Not too shabby for a faded Solid Snake, eh? If you ask us, we'd agree that his last outing is a must-have if you own a PlayStation 3. Just check out our review if you want to know why.

Mario Galaxy was fun. I'm not a big fan of platformers, but I had a great time with it. Level design was pretty insane. Makes you feel like a 9-year old again.

But I'm an MGS fan through and through, sp if I was to pick the better game between the two, you'll know where I'll go. :)

you have to be a fan of mario games before you can enjoy any mario title. as far as galaxy's platforming goes it was flawlessly perfect. mario galaxy has no flaws, people who find flaws in mario galaxy, have flaws.

Just joking, but it can be said, as well as to nintendo and microsoft. ps3 does not have many good exclusives (uncharted, ratchet, resistance, mgs4) whereas wii has no good 3rd party (zack+wiki, no more heroes), and xbox has mostly fps, and a few driving. Glad it got great reviews accross the board, and surprised it outscored ninja gaiden, smash bros, and halo/gears

I'm happy for Konami and the MGS series. However, it is extremely pathetic that MGS4 is the second highest rated exclusive of the generation when I'm almost certain every video gamer knows that it is the best hands down. Personally, I was extremely surprised with some of the low scores that MGS4 got from some reviewers.

Can someone please help me. I can't seem to figure out which are the GOOD exclusive titles for the 360; Gears of Wars aside, that was a hot game. And please do not count Halo as a good game, GOW was wat halo should have been. So please help, cause i'm starting to think 360 owners get free dopamine injections with their purchase.

story is to convoluted? may alienate some gamers/reviewers who don't follow the story? its metal gear 4! of course you will be a little lost at first if you're not familiar with it. but seriously. what percentage of gamers do you think haven't at least played the first metal gear? and secondly. if you are a reviewer and you're not familiar with metal gear you need to find something else to do.

Nintendo has plenty of money to give reviewers "incentives" to rate their overhyped games higher.

Super Mario Galaxy a 97%? It's Mario 64 with big innovation "spherical worlds" combined with last gen graphics and of course the same gameplay!

Hideo Kojima has something Miamoto and the Nintendo morons don't, creativity!

There is a story, and it has a real world message about war, politics, etc.

No jump and hit your head on blocks, eat a mushroom, and grow big! That was fun in the 8 bit days but times have changed!

So WTH then?! GOW aside, like i said it's worth buying a 360 for, why is everyone talking crap about the ps3 not having exclusives when the 360 exclusives are garbage. Halo was crap, mass effect was ok but nothing to call home for, and Bioshock isn't an exclusive anymore. All the really hot games are multiplatform i.e. Devil May Cry and THE CURRENT GOD OF GAMES COD4. I'm happy i bought my ps3 and only borrowed (stole) my 360 from my cousin.
