Metal Gear Solid 4 now in bug testing, Q2 release solid |
Ó
You're not the only one disappointed by the delay of Konami's Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, because developer Kojima Productions' boss Hideo Kojima himself is not happy. In the latest Kojima Productions Report, assistant producer Ryan Payton revealed that Kojima was embarrassed for the Sony PlayStation 3 exclusive title's delay, and the veteran video game developer is going to make up for it by releasing MGS4 this Q2 as planned.According to Payton, Metal Gear Solid 4 is in bug testing phase and near completion. New features can be added from this point until launch day, but "for the majority of the team, this is the end," said Payton. Some parts such as the intro movie are still missing, though signs of further delays aren't present.
Payton didn't confirm any solid dates and just mentioned that it should ship simultaneously worldwide with a few days of interval before arriving to shelves of different territories. "Mr. Kojima of all people is really committed to the date because he really hates to disappoint people, and I know he is embarrassed by what happened with the 2007 slip into 2008," he added.

That he takes responsibility for this, and promises for the release. He doesn't want to keep delaying the game for "quality assurance" reasons (read DNF). He hates doing that, apparently, which is good to see, especially when making such an epic title as this can turn out to be.
Surely hope they don't make a JamesBond-wannabe intro like they did with Snake Eater...
Actually I thought this was pretty cool......
anyways, its gd to kno Hideo is committed 4 his fans
Wish more devs thought like that and felt bad about the whole "whoops it's gonna be another 6months ok!?
This is a guy, whos an actual gamer. He isnt a games maker, he's an artist. Just like artists will be embaressed by releasing ***** work, so will he.
If only the Free Radical people were the same.
I don't mind waiting another quarter if it's gonna be a excellent quality product - Good to know Hideo is thinking about the gamers and his fans - Ya dont see that with other projects around! Good Hideo, Good Hideo Now seat! :)
I'm waiting for this game to get the PS3 - Ahh the good times will come again!
I love that intro. Kojima's surprises never fail to amaze me.
