Metal Gear Online - Image 1Unsurprisingly, Metal Gear Online has gained 1 million members since its launch back in June 2008. To celebrate this achievement, Konami is launching a special campaign, aptly called "Metal Gear Online: Commemorative Campaign".

Beginning November 25, to December 9, 2008, Konami will be awarding reward points to gamers who play MGO. The reward points won can be used to buy new online gear from their in-game reward shop.

The mechanics of the Commemorative Campaign are simple. For as long as you own a MGO account (Game IDs) and access the game for the duration of the promo, you will get 10,000 reward points, which will then be updated to your account come the last day of the Campaign.

Apart from that, you will also get the chance to be one of 30 people (10 people each from North America, Europe and Japan) to bag an additional 10,000 reward points. These will be drawn after the Campaign, and will be awarded to the winners on December 16, 2008.

Also, don't forget that Konami is also throwing in a special holiday treat for you guys. A special GENE and MEME expansion pack will be made available for your purchase at US$ 14.99. Keep it posted here for more bulletins on Metal Gear Online: Commemorative Campaign.

» 10,000

10,000 can go a long way, it could buy you a few *****ty items, full camo (Top/Pants = 3k each). Or it could buy you 1 beret.

I wouldn't mind saving for a Ghille Suit for the MEME expansion, judging by this post, it sounds like they'll release it before the 25th so Konami can trick people into buying the expansion on the day of release instead of losing money once they've halfed the price to sell both together. Still, they need to fix the game, remove the glitches and glitchers and add in a new mode.
