Metal Gear Online beta test schedule changed to April 14 - Image 1

Video games - specially the highly anticipated ones - often have a habit of getting delayed. Metal Gear Online seems to have taken the opposite route with the release of its beta test. Instead of the previously announced April 21 date, it will instead begin on April 14.

According to Konami's website, the mistake was due to a clerical error. Meaning, based on Konami's time tables, they've always probably had April 14 as the beta's starting date. The original date of the official game release still holds though, which is June 12.

Remember, pre-ordering Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots gets you a ticket to the Beta, but it comes in limited supply. Word is, pre-orders become available when April hits, so mark your calendars.

Buy: [Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots]
Buy: [Metal Gear Online]

» Thanks for the heads up QJ.

I thought I had gimped out and forgot to pre-order in time. Keep us up to date because I definitely want to be a tester for this. I remember Warhawk.

» Cant waitttt

Thats really good news. But I'm thinking they didn't want it at the same time as gran theft auto's release (cause then people will have to choose). Can't wait to own people online though!

» Beta?

What do you mean beta? More like you are pre-ordering a game and getting a demo. It's not a beta of the game, it's a demo.

» lol

Its a metal gear online BETA test for the US. Don't know where you got demo from. . .

It's like when they did the warhawk beta, except you have to get the pre-order disk to get into the beta with Mgo.

They call it a beta but it's really just a demo. lmao @ having to buy/pre-order something in order to get into a beta. Doing that pretty much means that it's not a beta and it's just a demo that they are trying to make sound important.

» What demo

have you had to buy/pre-order somthing in order to get?.. I know I didn't have any like that.

If you mad at having to pre-order to get into it think of it this way. Most people who actually WANT to get into this beta are buying Mgs4 anyways, so there taking down two birds with one stone (getting into a Metal gear online beta and pre-ordering the game that they'll eventually buy).

Really no matter which way you put it it's still a beta. Their testing the online.

My mad? lol

» depends

I'd say it depends. If they actually take feedback from the "demo/beta" and make changes based on them then it's a beta. If they don't...it's a demo. Simple as that.

» ?

umm ok...

by Eclipze_ - 2008-03-17 09:32
» Its

to test for bugs and network stability, if theres no bugs at this point you can't just go ahead and call it a demo (it just means that they found out that its ready for everyone else and it'll be able to handle it).

» Sigh...

" umm ok..."

Because it's "you're mad", not "your mad".
