Pandemic's Mercenaries 2: World in Flames - Image 1It was recently revealed that Mercenaries 2: World in Flames (PS3, Xbox 360, PC) will not be making its expected February 8 release date. It seems that Pandemic Studios' Josh Resnick really meant it when he said that they "don't want to slop out a game just to meet a deadline."

So far, there has been no explanation regarding this delay. In case you haven't been keeping up, this is the second time the game's release date has been pushed back. The first delay was attributed to a few bugs in the game as well as to give the developers some extra time to further polish the video game.

It looks like fans of the Merecenaries series will have to wait a little bit longer to get their hands on Mercenaries 2: World in Flames. Well, hopefully the wait will be worth it.

One thing is for sure:

2008 is the year of the delays.

» Aaahhhh

Not another delay, man whats up with so many games getting delays? MGS4 Q2, Haze 08-09, Mercenaries 2 ???. I understand that this generation of games is getting so big that development times are going to take longer, but if developers plan on giving a release date, shouldn't they try to meet it. If your not ready then give a quarter release date then an actual set in stone one. Its toying with my head thats made me annoyed.

There, now I feel better.

Mgs4 was been announced as Q2.. So I really wouldnt count that. Its not like they waited till like 2 weeks before the release date to say "oops forgot to tell you guys its delayed". The other games I can understand. Even though half these games that are getting delayed I could care less about.

If you think about it though it's only for the better, I'd rather have a game that a developer feels is polished and the best it can be instead of one that they wish they could've done more with

» It's a part of gaming

I understand how you feel about all the delays and feel your pain. However, I'd rather get my hands on an awesome, well-polished game than a buggy one.

» Yeah, delays are usually a good thing

If the delay means the finished product will be better, then it's a good thing.

Still, it sucks it happened to Mercs 2, I was really looking forward to playing this in a few weeks
