Mercenaries 2 multiplatform: Pandemic explains why |
Ó
We never saw the PC and PS2 versions coming, though.
The game footage you're going to see in the weblog is Pre-Alpha Software, so please, no criticisms when you're hitting the wrong target. Even there, one can see Pandemic living up to the Mercenaries motto: it ain't a Mercenaries game until the property damage gives your insurance company a heart attack. In fact, the real interest may not be in how the Xbox 360 and PC versions will look like compared to the PS3, but how the PS2 version will stack up to its next-gen brother.

Multi-platform games are a cost effective commodity.
Despite the crappy video quality, the game is looking quite good. The 360 version was a given, but I don't see why they are bothering with PS2.
wat now? yall said it was ONLY on ps3.......yall was holdin on to dat ***** like it was a GOD......now look
: )
Probably because of the enormous install base ps2 has. I wouldn't be surpised at all if the ps2 version sells the most copies, given how popular the first game was and how the ps2 is still doing extremely well. I can't wait for this game, its looking very cool.
I guess they think there's still life left in the PS2...
PS2 is still a great machine, especially the new slim version. I still have my 6 year old honker. LOL and of course my new PS3 :)
I can't wait for the PS3 version, I loved the original mercenaries.
imagine that, a ps3 exclusive now gone the way of 360. who could have guessed? lolololololol
meh who cares...ps3 is still better we got some of the 360 exclusives too
Though that's not quite how I would've said it (I speak English, not... that), I agree that PS3 fans really need to wake up. Sony's pockets are not nearly as deep as Microsoft's, and unless they own the studio that is making the game you can almost be certain that MS will buy away those exclusivity rights.
Many "360 exclusives" were only exclusive because PS3 was not released yet....ie. Oblivion, Enchanted arms...
With all these destructable building and such, I really would hope that the PS3 version shows it's physics prowess with more destructable buildings, or more pieces falling apart when you do destroy a building. If it's generally the same, i've lost all hope in PS3, especially since they started this game on PS3, so it should lean towards being more enhanced for it....
of course its about the money specially when EA is your publisher they will beat the snot out of them if they don't make the game for every console out there I'm actually surprised there is not a Wii version coming
too bad it will be a porn of the PS3 version so the graphics will be a bit washed down
Is it just me or did this guy above me (Shatterdome) not hear the part when they said "We'll try and make the consoles features identical." Although this may or maybe mean the physics as well...
Here in Venezuela many people is concerned about the political content of this game, we don't really like to be part of any kind of fictitious warfare because this is a peace-loving country. Many see this game like simply propaganda, against our democratic system and against our oil company. I like games, in special violent and mature ones, but it is very suspicious which countries Pandemic had chosen as a backdrop for Mercs, NK first, Venezuela now, perhaps Cuba later and so on. I'm sorry for posting a political themed comment but I has avoided this topic till now, I can not hold it anymore.
So it could also go the otherway.
I think devs should be focusing on each consoles strengths, IE. Physics and number crunching for PS3 and branched code (IE Artificial Intelligence) for the 360.
Unfortunately it's alot easier to incorporate Physics then it is A.I. I actually wonder why someone hasn't made an A.I middleware, like Havoc, I suppose it's because A.I needs to be tailored to each game, but still, a basic package for FPS, RTS, Racing, could be made, then the devs could work on the smaller game specific code.....hard to say if we will ever see that...
oh, boo hoo. Who cares if the game takes place in Venezuela?? I'm sure all the WWII games we play are 'anti-German propaganda' too then right? give me a break. It seems like people are pinning everything on video games these days....
sick and tired of all the xbots who thing games going multiplatform mean the demise of a system...
ITS EA!!
they will take every penny they can get their money grubbing hands on..
the important thing for me personally is that we get it.
whether its GTA4,mercenarie s or whatever... if it comes to p3 im a happy mofo
if you get it too... thats great...maybe we can talk strategy instead of firing off verbal mortars at each other
mercenaries 2 and gta 4 i am in heaven
No love for the WII...... poor wii..... got no love
