Media Molecule believes that their upcoming PlayStation 3 exclusive LittleBigPlanet will be a console-mover. This was stated by producer Eric Fong at San Diego's recent Comic-Con.Fong says LittleBigPlanet has an appeal which is universal, and it doesn't matter if you're a hardcore or a casual gamer. He also earmarked "everyone" as their target market, and highlighted the innovative features which make their game unique and fun.
"It's got enough complexity that people can play it and enjoy it for many hours; at the same time, if you're just a casual user you can run through and play the game and have fun with it," he said. "Everything you see in the developer levels, you can create as the player."
The one challenge that Fong did concede was that of making consumers more aware of how good their product is. . "How do you explain the game...without getting your hands on it? It's a difficult thing to do," he lamented.
Fong then stressed the importance of having a major presence in events like Comic-Con and Games Convention. He said giving the players some hands-on time with the title is a good way of orienting them on what they're getting for their money.

console mover...it will be THE console mover.
I bought a ps3 when I heard about this game.
It's definitely going to be a console mover. Its definitely going to move my ps3 from my measly tv in my room to my 46 inch flat screen in my living room.
Maybe more girls and kids will be into the PS3 with LBP. I can't wait for this. I'm saving up for this one and NBA 2k8 this October.
Media molecule commenting on their own game like this could be considered hubris and pompous. Too bad I have the same opinion!
i agree with that dude,that its gunna be THE console mover... its gunna move the xbox into the closet to gather dust and pave way for the ps3 and little big planet to hit that hi-def experiance.

i will keep an eye on my ps3 if it starts moving when this game is released

but no one game, no matter how good it looks in demo, is going to get me to buy a PS3.
There are enough games on the system that interest me now that I might consider it. Only problem is the price tag. I just can't afford one.
I've said from the very begining that this will be a console mover and now the game is BIGGER then ever.
