Media Molecule hopes to expand LittleBigPlanet; first-person game possible?

Nintendo DSi hardware specs, software details: bigger screen, shorter .. - Image 1LittleBigPlanet isn't even out yet and already the devs are working on future versions and expansions. It was only a few days ago that it was confirmed that an extension for the game on the PSP is already in talks.

But there are so many other possibilities for the game though. How would you feel about LittleBigPlanet taking a first-person perspective? That's what Media Molecule's Mark Healey hinted on in a recent interview:

[It would] be great to make first-person games using similar tools, all from the same universe, or... I don't want to say too much, because we've got some very exciting ideas with that stuff.

What a tease. It seems that with the creation tools that Media Molecule used for the game, numerous iterations and expansions are entirely possible. Healey hopes that the game would be "expanded and mutated in many different ways." We hope so too, Healey. He continues:

We've got bucketfuls of ideas of how to expand it, so if we can keep it pumped with blood and people still into it then I can see it going all sorts of directions.

What do you mean? How is first-person-mode ruining the game? Just don't use it if you don't like it or just don't download the expansion.

» eh...

Everything is completely drawn on screen, so a 1rst person view for the game is something possible. And! If they do the mode, you can use it or not! You can do an hybrid, you can do a first person platformer or more. More options lead to innovation! And Option remains Option!

I think when he siad first person not nessecarily first person LBP, but something using the same engine, like rag doll kung fu, if u look at that and LBP in a way u could say they'r the same universe, and by same tools i think he was prolly talking about a first person game with the same creation tools, bringing the same creativity in LBP to another genre and such. sounds cool to me.

» Well...

Well here's a downfall if they just give LBP a first person views. It might seem cool, but wouldn't it make it a lot harder to see things like secrets or objectives that are above or below you if it and object is blocking your view? I mean, just imagine playing the same LBP in first-person. There are like at least 3 different layers in a LBP map that you can walk on right? (i'm not sure). You would be walking back and forth on three locked paths. It just seems that it will make playing LBP even stranger. You'll basically be playing w/ tunnel vision.

Aaaaanyways... I preordered LBP a while ago. Can't wait!

About those bonuses you get for playing the first week...Does anyone know how long does that "week" goes for? It comes out on a Tuesday in the US and Gamestop doesn't get in until Wednesday and I can't personally pick it up until the weekend. Would the "first week" go until Saturday, Tuesday, or even extend until the next Saturday? Just wondering if anyone knows.
