Mass Effect - Image 1February 10th is the day to look out for if you want to get a 2-Disc Edition for Mass Effect (also on PC). How do you get it? Go to GameStop (linked below), and there you'll find the product page, tagged with a price of US$ 19.99.

The 2-Disc Set is said to include the following:
  • Disc 1 - Mass Effect video game
  • Disc 2 - Documentary, Game Trailers, Music, Design Galleries and Bring Down the Sky
Disc 2 is looking to be a goldmine! And for only 20 bucks, that's not such a bad steal at all. But there's more news on Mass Effect stirring up in the webs of the Net. This one's just a rumor for now, though, but an exciting one nonetheless.

Word has it that the sequels for Mass Effect (in case you didn't know, it "just has to be a Trilogy!") is sure to drop on the PlayStation 3 as well (the rumor's been going around for quite some time now). In an article from Second Story Gamer, a reliable source close to Electronic Arts revealed that the company decided to make it available multiplatform because of "the economic outlook". Simply put, they want it to sell more - and who doesn't want to rake in more profits in this dire time?

As for the original installment, the same source said that it is "likely" to have a PS3 port as well, and with a release window to boot! Mid-2009 is the targeted PS3 debut, so it seems, and the main idea behind this is to introduce PS3 gamers to the series.

What's more, the official announcement will be made at the GDC this March. So until then,  we'll tag this part under rumor. Won't hurt to cross your fingers too, though.

But don't get confused. The GameSpot bit of this article is fact.

» Wow

I always thought this game was first party, hopefully this is true cause this and dead rising are the only 2 360 exclusive games I wanna play

» This is a wonderful deal

if you haven't already gotten the game of course.

Oh well I paid full price and I would again. I thought this game was well made. I wouldn't play it again because it's replay value is kind of low but i'm glad I did.

» it was

microsoft game studios published the first mass effect for 360, then EA purchased bioware and brought it to PC.

glad to see ps3 users might get a chance to appreciate this truly epic game.

» i disagree

i played it through 4 times...

using a different pair of squad members to hear their interactions, as well as light and dark side, sleeping with different crew members... add to that finding liara at different points gives you a different cutscene (she's pretty bad off if you get her before the main story final planet)

granted the side mission replay value is pretty low...

» wrong

Nope Dude, Bioware brought it together with MS Game Studios to the pc. It's not the first time a exclusive 360 Game went to the pc. eg Halo, KOTOR and Gears of War.

» BLU-RAY

It would be a great idea if the game and the sequel would come out on one single Blu-Ray for the PS3.

So u can have 2 Games for the price of one.

EA published it.

it was one of (if not THE) first game EA used SecuROM on...

i'm not some 360 fanboy that thinks MGS would never port a 360 game to PC... i just know what i'm talking about.

» nah

It's done by bioware - who was bought by EA.

I'm personally stoked! I've been wanting to play Mass Effect for a while, not owning a 360 and not sure if I can run it on my PC (I think I could but not positive) - so a PS3 version smack in the mid of 2009 is very awesome news in my book, hope its true.

» Great

I was thinking about getting it for PC but I have been reluctant not knowing how it would run on PC. I bought Gears of War for PC and meet all the recommended system requirements but I still can't get it to play smooth. The animation is choppy and I am afraid to run into the same thing with Mass Effect on PC. If it came to the PS3 though, I would definitely pick it up. I hope the rumors are true.

» i heard

this game was horrible and i never played it because of that

» meh

if you like american rpgs, it's a good game and most reviewers agree on that.

i suggest reading more reviews, and if you are interested after that, it's a steal @ $20...
