Not the first time for Marky Mark to work with video games. Wahlberg also played Max Payne in another videogame-to-movie project. He also handed out Kinects for charity with Microsoft.

Wahlberg also revealed that the Goodfellas duo of Robert DeNiro and Joe Pesci may also be revived in the Uncharted movie. According to the actor, Russel's people have already contacted DeNiro and Pesci had already confirmed to play as Nathan Drake's uncle. "DeNiro would be my father," Wahlberg told MTV.

Nathan Drake's dad and uncle have not made an appearance in the Uncharted games, so it could be a hint at what would be the movie adaptation's plot. "Hopefully we'll be making that movie this summer," Wahlberg said.

I don't really have a problem with Mark Wahlberg as an actor. Believe it or not but I think am the only one who thought he wasn't bad in Max Payne. However I really don't think he was the right choice for Nathan Drake. He doesn't have the look and feel of Nathan Drake and thats the key part of making a movie based on a video game a success. Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft was a good fit, so Tomb Raider did quite well for itself. JCVD as Guile in SF was not a good fit(along with the rest of the cast), so SF ended up sucking ballz.

ummm streetfighter sucked because it sucked. nothing on the planet could have saved that movie

I don't agree with the movie making in a way...
I'd rather watch a game movie in CG so it won't ruin shit for me.
But that's just my own opinion

i haven't seen many wahlberg movies actually, but he was pretty bad-ass in Four Brothers. overall that is a great movie imho.

"Prince" of prince of persia movie quite suited for the role. I just can't judge outright without trailers but on the outset, I don't think he "suits" the role despite being a good actor himself.

I think it's funny all the hate that Wahlberg is getting too, just because everyone's favorite paper pick or w/e you picked on didn't get the part. And that's even if Sony considered them to begin with.

may not be the best actor, but he is def. not the worst either.

I bet they are going to make the movie more serious so they don't make it too similar to Indiana Jones. I can understand that even if I don't agree with it. This movie will suck. Game movies should be done in cgi using original cast.

Most importantly, Hollywood should be left OUT of it! They always have to muck with things to try to make it just like every other movie out there by adding in a love interest or family connection or something that was never mentioned in the game (Drake had a love interest, so at least they won't be shoe-horning that in, but apparently they're giving him a father and/or uncle).

Tomb Raider got a quasi-love interest added into both films, Transformers got a love interest, G.I. Joe, Iron Man, Star Trek (Spock and Uhura), even freakin' Batman! (Rachel Dawes) Some of those were really good movies, but they could have been just as good or better if they had been more faithful to the source material.

My favorite game-based movie Is Advent Children... the plot was basically non-existent and the english voice acting was terrible, but it didn't have Hollywood's garbage shoehorned in.

Nathan is not supposed to be "bad ass". He is supposed to be the "every man" concept. Although not every man is as fit as Nathan is.

I think this guy should play it, http://www.tv.com/dylan-mcdermott/person/1512/summary.html?tag=container;cast_crew_list, Dylan McDermott. He looks just like Nathan Drake, IDK if he has the comedy of Nathan Drake cause i've only seen him in that show Dark Blue, where he is serious all the time. But if he did have a comedic side that I knew of, he would be the perfect fit! As for Mark Wahlberg, he is too short and stocky for Drake, you need a taller and leaner kinda guy.
