Mark Rein: PS3's UT3 looking better than Gears of War |

As you guys will recall, Epic Games' VP Mark Rein was among one of dudes lucky enough to try out the Sony PlayStation 3 port of his company's Unreal Tournament III. Rein's reaction emphasized on how smooth UT3's PS3 port handled.Smooth enough, apparently, that Rein states that it will exceed the visuals of even Epic's Gears of War. As Rein stated during a recent interview:
People are going to be pleasantly surprised. It's a really high end experience that pushes the graphics bar up even higher than Gears of War. There's more polygons, there's more stuff going on, there's more explosions and there's more things happening, so we're just really pleased with the way the game runs on the PS3.
Further along during the interview, Mark Rein also gave his take on the difficulties that many a studio had stressed about developing games on the PlayStation 3. As Rein stated:
You know, bringing a game to any new piece of hardware is difficult. That's just the nature of making games. Making games is hard. It's a hard business. I don't think the PS3 was any more of a challenge than any other new piece of hardware that we've used. Remember, we've been making PC games for years and the PC isn't one platform, it's hundreds of platforms. There's no two PCs that are completely identical in many cases. That's just the challenge of making games.
Unreal Tournament III for the PC will land in North America this November 19, with Europe's port arriving a little later on November 23. Europe's PS3 version, on the other hand, is yet to be given an exact release date, and is currently scheduled for an early 2008 release.

2nd: DAH that the next game of the team is looking better than the 1st! How can the reverse situation exist? ps: The ps3 and x360 are equals right now in graphics... (ps3 will maybe gain upperhand since it process faster)
3rd: Finally, the PC version will have better graphics anyway, wich X times anti-aliasing, lol (for the people who payed thousands of dollards for their PC only, lol).
4th: Stop saying to each other that everybody is a fanboy of this and that, who cares?
5th: I don't have a 5th, I don't even know why I'm replying to those guys, lol

I think that you are not intellectually lacking so stop doing that, it diminishes you to zero...
It pains (lol nice one isnt it?)me to see people believing that 50gbs are egual to 9gbs in terms of content and code capacitythe can carry....(?) what the hell am i talking about!! IN EVERY KIND OF CAPACITY...
I dont want to start talking about the Cell..the chip's abilities are proved every day or so... Now for the developers to realise that....!!!
And why is this so strange UT3 being better than GOW?
Its only natrural UT3 is one of the biggest FPS franchises out there and its how many years old?
For Epic this was only natural to take it up notch or two...
Look at Cod4 its multiplat and its better than the best game in Xbox history Halo 3... This proves once again that it all comes down to the developers eg Infinity ward Vs Bungie... 1-0.
I think Epic chose the PS3 to showcase the new UT title first for a reason, having already chosen the 360 over the ps3 with Gow I think if the knew that this title would benefit from the ps3 if it was done and optimized on it first.
The question now is, will it be the same when it comes to the 360? I quess we'll just have to wait and see.
By the way I'am half way through cod 4 on the 360 and the game just sucks your life out of you!!!
I stop just to marvel the surroundings, the Ai is good I've seen better though, nice particle engine too the explosions the smoke and flying debri are top notch, but the graphics on Gow are slightly better...
I cant wait for UT3!!

No just kidding but let's just say that UT3 will have better graphics than Halo 3 - that helps to join in the the fanboyish type arguments doesn't it?
