In an interview, Epic Games head Mark Rein stated that the Playstation 3 has a better spot for launch than the Xbox 360 had. Sony has taken efforts to get PS3 devkits out to developers as soon as possible, and you may remember from an earlier article that there are already 10,000 kits out there.Developers were already working with final PS3 hardware around E3, whereas Microsoft did not ship development kits until very late before the launch of the Xbox 360. So at the end, Sony's delays have been good for something.
Furthermore, as he's the head of a company with a leading position in online gaming, he sees the introduction of Live Anywhere as a little worrisome because Microsoft is interfering with the customer relationships of other companies, which usually have their own online servers and technologies and are now supposed to comply with Microsoft's "closed system". As a gamer, however, Rein thinks it's a very cool idea which will eventually lead to a "renaissance of PC gaming".
Rein also talks about optimising Gears Of War, stating that at E3 the game only ran on a single thread. With the new Gemini multi-threaded renderer technology Epic is implementing, framerates will improve, making the game more fluid - something UT 2007, in development for PS3, could also benefit from.

Finally someone speaks about the contant imaginary PS3 doomsday articles. Writers are definitely getting desperate for some juice news on the PS3. Anything PS3 negative gets 100x the hits of a positive Wii/360 article for example.
So is PS3 negativity just a way for blog sites to get more people reading their bias articles?

Therefore it WILL have more games overall (AAA remains to be seen) and some games will be more polished than they would have been if they launched with the PS3 earlier this year.
