Mark Rein: major expansion coming for Unreal Tournament 3 |
Epic VP Mark Rein revealed that they are working together with Midway on a "major expansion" for Unreal Tournament 3 (PS3, Xbox 360, Windows PC). Rein maintains that Epic relations with Midway are doing alright, dispelling rumors that the two would part ways saying, "Midway is still very much the publisher of Unreal Tournament 3."
In fact, we're working together on a major expansion to Unreal Tournament 3, that we expect will excite and grow our UT3 customer base which, incidentally, now numbers over a million units sold-through world-wide.
Rein didn't give any more details, but given the number of problems that Unreal Tournament titles have experienced, a major expansion is necessary indeed. It's a pretty good game as it is, but we'd like to play with more people.

if it has splitscreen. that's the reason i wanted to buy the game, and when I found out that it wasn't included the day before it was released, I almost didn't buy it, but I thought to myself, 'Self, they'll add it in a patch, because they're Epic and Epic cares about their customers.' And look what happened. We got assraped.

spicyhamster, don't complain, Epic didn't Assrape anyone, at least not compared to other games recently (Mercs 2 anyone?)
i think UT3 for ps3 is great, i would love splitscreen, but really, Epic delivered a fine game anyway
As Glenn summed up at the end; this is such a good game, and I pre-ordered my copy, but there's something about the online side of things that I don't like. It feels like there's no community. This may also be amplified for me, by the fact that only 1 other friend of mine has a copy, so I never really play it.
This expansion may pull in more users, which can only be a good thing. Just wish my mates would leave CoD4 alone now!!!
cuz that is the reason I did not buy it. It looks to be one of the prettiest games out there and I was disappointed to learn it would not really include a true single player campaign.
I, personally need a story to engross me into the game-world. Without that I have not really gotten interested in merely a absolutely MP-only affair.
Unfortunately.. with everything coming out now my wallet still says "Not gonna happen" with this... not to mention all the hours of gameplay upcoming.
HOW WILL I GET THEM ALL IN ???
