For those who are dismissing the possibility of recreating copyrighted characters in Sony and Media Molecule's LittleBigPlanet, here's some news for you: it has been confirmed by the game's creative director that recreating Mario and The Prince is "entirely possible".
Creative director Mark Healey said that the scribbles of LittleBigPlanet characters posted a few months ago were just early concept art. But with the way LittleBigPlanet turned out, reconstruction of copyrighted characters is now not just mere possibility but may turn out to become one of the more common gamer practices.
While using content owned by other companies usually get people into trouble, Healey said that this time they're going to rely on the gaming community to moderate the content. However, it shouldn't come as a surprise if gamers turn out to be excessively lenient versions of the ESRB.
LittleBigPlanet is certainly getting better and more exciting every update. More updates to come!
