MGS4 80GB PS3 - Image 1

We all know how much gnashing of teeth there has been out of envy or disbelief when we reported that Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots'  street date has been broken in several locations around the world. If that kind of news drives you nuts, prepare to go wild with this one.

NeoGAF member Randam_Hajile posted the image reproduced above and said he got his 80GB PlayStation 3 bundled with Metal Gear Solid 4 a week early from Wal-mart. He was shady on details, so feel free to theorize how he got it from his post quoted below:

So I walked in to Wal-Mart tonight to get a Father's Day card with my fiance', and walked out with this! I pre-ordered the Limited Edition MGS4 at Gamestop, so I don't know if I'm even gonna open this copy of the game, but at least now I have the 80 gig PS3 I've been waiting for, and a week early at that! My college graduation ceremony is tomorrow morning. Happy graduation to me!

There you have it, folks. More people claiming to have picked up MGS4 and related items before launch.

Fake!! They don't put that packaging sticker on items. Those stickers usually go on wrapped up pallets. So he must be hiding something, or just threw it in there to make it seem like it was bought at walmart.

http://www.konami.com/Konami/ctl3810/cp20111/si3327390/cl1/metal_gear_solid_4_limited_edition_playstation3_bundle

konami's official website only sells black 40gb editions.

why does the box seen above the exact opposite of what konami is selling? its white instead of black.

There are 2 types of MGS4 bundles that I know of, The 80GB one, which I think is supposed to be bundled with Pain, and the other bundle is the 40GB Gun Metal one.

Take a look at the wall sockets to the right of the box and the box it self. The image is fake. The way the box fits into the picture looks too odd. I don't blame a dimension error on the way it was taking, but it just doesn't *look" as if it is there.

I have one of those on my Wii box from Circuit City. Not everything ends up on a shrink-wrapped palette. That's usually how retailers end up with jacked up packaging, incidentally.

look at the shadows being cast unto the box. Either it's real or the person who made the image has leet photoshop skills.

That dinky shadow cast from the Wii remote? That is easy to make. All you practically do is draw the shadow, fill it will black and lower the transparency. There is a little bit more to it, but that would give you a "basic" shadow.

Also, the shadow it self looks rather odd. The depth to it as well as its colour looks more red.

I work for Walmart...unfortunately. That packaging sticker is nowhere close to where it should be in the picture....more like its not even suppose to be there. PS3s come in 2 in a packaging box and thats where u usually find the the warehouse label. Hell...the shipment for these weren't even scheduled until June 10 in my store....and it's the superstore. That label has also been ripped off obviously. AND if you look closely enough it has a large number which is say 47 i think. This number indicates the department number but this is from electronics and should say 05 as the warehouse number label for electronics.

# Who cares if its fake or notBigboi709 2008-06-08 10:12
Why does i matter that he got it early. I believe thats real because its not like they had security everywhere enforcing the release date. it is possible that someone who just did not care or some old person who didnt understand that it shouldnt be released yet. besides it not like hes telling secrets about the game.
