Major retailers still selling LittleBigPlanet despite recall

LittleBigPlanet - Image 1Ha! Now who didn't see this coming? Seriously.

Despite the recall of LittleBigPlanet copies, it seems a lot of the major retail stores are simply ignoring the whole thing and

selling what they already have in their shelves of the little big game. Tipster Kris kindly pointed us to Blockbuster Video as one of those retailers willing to satisfy our sack-person needs.

That Videogame Blog also confirmed Wal-mart and Target as a LittleBigPlanet source, so good for them! Or rather, good for us.

No word on whether this will be a lasting situation or something Sony lawyers will quickly stamp out. I suspect the "recall" of the game was simply announced by Sony to shield them from prosecution in case offended Muslims come a-knocking, so I kind of doubt they're gonna try very hard to stop the recalled copies from leaving store shelves.

Again, thanks to tipster Kris for the heads up!

Sony- genius!

however, I'm deeply offended by the fact that you don't take deep offense to two lines in a song in a game seriously!

» Damn you gamestop....

If gamestop wasn't giving out so much fantastic god of war schwag, I'd be on my way to my nearest rule-unabiding retailer to pick up my copy right now! >:(

» Haha!

LMAO, I know. I don't understand why it's so difficult for people to wait. Don't they have anything better to do?

» wtf

why is it being recalled???

» just a little big mess up

There were two lines from the Koran used in one of the music tracks. Sony thought people would get offended so they recalled LittleBigPlanet . Don't worry though, the game should be back in shelves within a week or so.

» . . .

Target tells me Nov. 7th, a bad gamestop tells me Oct. 29th. Glad the gamestop i preordered at still tells me 27th.

» well...

Sony themselves said they won't be mailing them out until the WEEK OF the 27th....which means the earliest you could get it is the 28th or 29th, since it takes a day or two to mail 'em out....worst case they could wait until the 31st to ship them, which would mean around nov 3rd....

» Hmm

The wal-mart near me got rid of their copies, with the recall they didn't even put them on the shelves and sent them back. So I guess thats a good thing for me then, patience is always a virtue.
