You get the idea, right? - Image 1 IGN's preview of 2K Sports' Major League Baseball 2K7 talks about how the devs have gone back and overhauled the game somewhat, trying to improve the features offered in last year's installment and taking advantage of the PS3's capabilities. Stuff like more accurate player models, some redesigned gameplay features, pull-down menus, and umpires with unique personalities.

But the big question's really got to be "how are you going to play the game with the SIXAXIS?" Well, IGN also reveals how (so far) players will bat using motion-sensing. It's kinda... okay, let us break it down to keep things simple:
  • On the plate: hold SIXAXIS level in front of you.
  • To bat: push the SIXAXIS forwards to make contact with the ball.
  • Push or pull the ball left.right: twist the SIXAXIS in the desired direction.
  • Pop or ground ball:  twist  the SIXAXIS up 30 degrees to send the ball flying; twist down the same to keep it low.
It actually isn't that complicated. Could take some getting used to, IGN says, but at least it's intuitive, if not analogous to real-life batting as the Wiimote is (advantage, though, is that no controller will harm anyone in the playing of Major League Baseball 2K7, even if it's held by cover boy Derek Jeter). This got us curious: will pitching use motion-sensing, too? (A SIXAXIS clocked at 90 m.p.h., now that's a sight.)

That sounds so lame. Just use the damn analog sticks. Driving using SIXAXIS is ok, but baseball, come on.

I think it's awesome. I remember the first and last time I played a Baseball game on a console. Anolg sticks suck. Same with the PC. You expect me to play baseball with a mouse? Come on...

One thing is certain though: more flying controller stories will come.

looks like someones trying to make a stupid baseball game. but knowing developers making sony games, they will probaly have the option of playing it the old way or with the motion controls. just like in Motostorm, which is really dumb. if youre going to have motion conrols make people use them.
