Wizards of the Coast together with Sony Online Entertainment has announced Magic: The Gathering - Tactics, an online 3D turn-based strategy game based on the rich Magic: The Gathering Multiverse.

Tactics will feature regular content expansions, a robust tournament environment, an achievement and rankings program, and original stories of the Planeswalkers of Magic: The Gathering, dramatically rendered in a 3D environment. It will allow players to participate in single player scenarios or jump right into PVP action against other players worldwide, 24 hours per day. According to John Smedley, Sony Online Entertainment president:

By collaborating with Wizards of the Coast, weÂ’re able to combine the strengths of both companies to develop an innovative, online, 3D game based on an extremely popular IP. WeÂ’re going to be taking the Magic: The Gathering Multiverse places players have never seen.

Magic: The Gathering - Tactics is scheduled to arrive early 2010 for PC with a PS3 version due later.

Yugioh has only been out for about 9 years, magic has been out for 18. I think the creators of magic would know what to do with their game by now.

Are you serious? Comparing yugioh to Magic is like comparing the flag foot ball you played in grade school to the NFL . . .
