Apart from Capcom's official announcement at last year's E3, and the accompanying revelation that David Hayter will be hopping on board, not much has been known or heard about the movie adaptation of Lost Planet (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC). Thanks to Jun Takeuchi, we're learning more about the project, and what do you know, it won't be following the game's storylines after all.

Said Takeuchi,

[There] probably [won't be] so much of a reference to this particular title [Lost Planet 2]. However, the only thing I know is those people working on the project that they love the world of Lost Planet. So we know that they're going to utilize that world, but as far as the story line goes, the movie is completely different from the game.

He also revealed that Mega Man creator and Capcom's big man, Keiji Inafune, is also on board for the movie.
