Cover art of Capcom's Lost Planet: Extreme Condition - Image 1While the game may not be exactly the newest thing to hit the next-gen console, the PS3 port of Capcom's Lost Planet: Extreme Condition looks just as good as its previous releases on the PC and the Xbox 360.

Below you can take a look at some of the screenshots from the game and judge for yourself whether the developers did a good job translating it to the PS3.

Just to get everyone up to speed, Lost Planet is a third-person action shooter that puts you in the shoes of the amnesiac character Wayne Holden as he tries to find sense about his lost past on the planet E.D.N. III.

Judging from the visuals, the developers from Capcom were able to give justice porting the once Xbox 360-exclusive title to the PS3. From Wayne right down to the massive VS mechs, the upcoming release looks very promising for PS3 console owners.

The game will include all the downloadable content from the Xbox 360, as well as the bonus characters from the PC. The PS3 version of Lost Planet: Extreme Condition is slated to be released in early 2008.

The game seems all nice and fun, lighting perfect for the icy theme etc... But what's with the ridiculous low resolution textures?!

Come on I believe Capcom could do way better, just by looking at DMC4 you'll notice that the textures are way better...

I guess they didn't bother "updating" the textures from the 360/PC version... probably because the game never got the target success they wanted... Oh well.

I own the 360 version and it looks way better. These aren't the same graphics. If anything, they've "downgraded". I really don't like th snow either. It looks hard and bland. On the 360 it was incredibly fluffly.

(and yes, I own both systems.)

Hmm... I also own both systems, and lloked at the screenshots side by side, as usual the PS3 version seemed to be more texturized, and smooth with great rendering. The 360 looked very similiar, although the graphics were crisper but not as smooth. The only thing that I saw that the 360 version did better at was the crispness.

But then again that is MY opinion.

Only played the demo myself, but the snow looks different on the PS3 version, less fluffy looking as the guy above mentioned.

» haha you guys are crazy...

Who cares about how fluffy the snow is?

I heard this game was good though, might just look into playing it when it comes out.

» Fluffy?

should be interesting. I'll rent the ps3 version when it comes out and compare it to the 360. the screens look nice but its hard to tell which one is better without seeing it in motion. I hope it's in 1080P and runs at 60fps w/dts sound. that'd make me buy this one and start ranking up all over again. sure would be cool if the ps3 and 360 versions could play cross platform
