Via NeoGAF and FF-XIII.net, we've got some hot news for you about the the development of the Lord of Vermilion trademark and Final Fantasy XIII.

Scans from an unnamed Japanese magazine show off Lord of Vermilion, a new IP we mentioned last month. Furthermore, we've got news about Yoshinori Kitase, and how the PS3 is helping to make FFXIII devoid of loading times.

First off is Lord of Vermilion. According to the scans and NeoGAF, it's an arcade-based Trading Card Game which certainly looks cool.

Second, and perhaps more importantly for PS3 fans, is some leaked excerpts from an interview with Yoshinori Kitase and Tetsuya Nomura. In it, Kitase mentioned how the PS3 was helping to make FFXIII a more seamless game:

The Blue-Ray's disc space and the PS3 HDD's standards has helped us a lot in terminating (mostly, if not absolutely) loading times. Just like how 7 was a huge improvement from 6, the improvement between 12 and 13 may be big too.

Certainly good news for Final Fantasy fans. While it might seem like a tough order, we're certain Square Enix can pull it off. In any case, you can view the full excerpts via the source link below.

» Huh?

Never heard of a final fantasy trading card game lol. But if its a trading card game I dont see why it'd need load times in the first place really lol.

I'd rather stick with FF XIII and FF Versus XIII.

As long as Lord of Vermillion doesn't require me to buy cards in reallife (like with eye of judgement) I'm buying it =), could be fun...

Love to see that FF13 is using the HD to decrease loading times ^^

» cool

I think it's great that assassin's creed uses the HDD, and now FF13 use it :D. The load times is the major problems in JRPGs since it breaks the flow of battles. Still, in FF12, you don't "enter" fights and I'm sureFF13 will follow that way. Anyway, it's cool that FF13 will load fast!
