Lord of the Rings Online dev "excited" about their secret console MMO |
Ó
It's no secret that Turbine Inc., the company behind Lord of the Rings Online, is developing a new MMO. Although they still won't confirm whether this mystery game is a port of LoTRO, they do say that they're "incredibly excited" about what they have so far. Says a spokesperson from the studio:
We won't comment on rumors but it's no secret that we've been deep in development for some time on an MMO for the next-generation consoles.
While I won't discuss specific titles, I will confirm that we are incredibly excited about what we have accomplished and strongly believe that the console market is ready for the massively connected social gaming experience that Turbine provides.
The first parties share this belief and have been great partners to work with as we get ready for the next major evolution of the platform.
So when are we going to see this super-duper incredibly exciting new console MMO? Dunno. I'm hoping we'll see it this E3.

I really liked LotRO. My only issue with the game is it's absolute refusal to let go of the mouse. The entire game can be mapped to a controller, but selecting in-field objects/characters is arbitrarily bound to the mouse. Whatever Turbine is putting out on consoles, I'll definitely give it a try.
