SONIC FOR THE PS3.... er... wait.

Well, now we feel like those celebrities from "Punk'd." Except we don't make oodles of cash, go out late at night with cute stars, or talk about our recently released sex videos (now on streaming media!). Sigh...

Ladies and gents, remember the news about a picture of the actual box art for a PS3 Sonic game?

Well... we messed up. We were tricked, duped, conned, connived, coerced, presented with a truthful lie, and screwed from behind by a Phillips screwdriver and a lot of baby oil. More specifically...

We got Hitched
We got Hitched.

We apologize for getting some of your hopes up. Truthfully, we were hoping it was real too. Then we decided to dig a bit further, and as some of you commenters have mentioned, it's a convincing and painstakingly-made fake of Metallic Force.

You can view the pictures of the original Blu-ray product, as well as a screenshot of the Xbox 360 cover. We can only imagine how many layers it took to get the box right, and how many more had to be done to get the disc in our previous article looking like something you'd expect from a PlayStation game.

One thing though. If you're going to trick us, could you at least use a better box? After all, QJ at least deserves to be tricked with the Blu-ray of Independence Day, right?

» Told ya so.

I knew this was fake all along.

» HAHAHA

I knew it was not true because the game was next to a Shadow the Hedgehog case. Why put a next-gen game to a crappy game (Come on, we all know that Shadow was a bad game). Plus the back of the case had some indication of Photoshop. It was a good try, but you did not fool me.

I was hoping that wouldnt be the cover cos that blu thing looks mega tack!

PS3 Rules!!! Nintendo is for little girls who cant handle holding a real controler and instead need to use a mini pen (cos girls love stationary)

» absolute waste of time?

I sure hope that only took about 3.5 minutes of your life to create.

by Crash - 2006-09-18 23:03
» Well

I believed it. No wonder it took him so long to put out the inside after the cover though.

by comedy - 2006-09-18 23:33
» why

why does someone bother to make such a fake? it's quite funny, but still rather sad... oh well, kudos to the fake-maker he duped some people (apart from those amazing people who won't believe anything, they're far too smart to be fooled by anything.. well done 'i told you it was fake' people)

in case you can't tell, i was being sarcastic.

» I figured it was fake when.....

I figured it was fake as soon as I saw the location of the picture. Would have been more believable in an office setting, not on a crappy dirty floor.

sorry to burst ur bubble, but that "blue thing" will be on PS3 games. its the bluray trademark and is the boxes that they use.

and to all the "oh hohoho i saw that it was a photoshop because of this tiny lil mistake", you need to get a life. studying a box forever is just as bad as creating a fake. he did it for laughs, u did it for god knows y. who cares if its a fake, thats what it will look like anyways.

The Colors looked a bit wrong and pixelated around the top of the box art (the red part). But it looked too real too.

» Haha

That was a damn good fake.

» @13

I didn't study the box forever. From the second I saw the first pic, I knew that crap was fake. The lighting and shading was all wrong, the case was real but the cover had to many primary colors For instance, if something is flat out red and you take a picture of it, the color you see on the picture will not be flat red in that setting. In that setting it would be darker (and if it were glossy like it was supposed to be, because of the plastic over it, there would be light diffusions, reflections, and glare.(Like there was on the case (This glare was supposed to extend over the cover, but it did not.)) There was none of that in this picture .There was no reflection from the plastic that holds the cover on the case.) The cover was curve around the spine(hinge) of the case. There is a 90 degree edge there as if the artist, which he or she did, just changed the orientation of two digital images made thier edges perpendicular.

I saw all that in about 7 seconds.

» Typo

The cover was curve around the spine(hinge) of the case.

Sould say, "The cover is supposed to be curved around the spine(or hinge) of the case."
