LittleBigPlanet's online Create not available at launch |

LittleBigPlanet's theme of "Play. Create. Share." (which, by the way, are three names of the gold Trophies to be unlocked) will be a bit stilted at first. Over at the PlayStation boards, Media Molecule developer Sam_Protagonist clarifies that the online multiplayer Create mode will not be accessible right from the start.
The four-player online Create mode - the one in which you and your buddies can design levels online - will only be incorporated within the game during the first major update for the game. Don't worry, you'll still be able to create your own levels offline, meaning, all four of you sharing one PS3 unit. The developer further continues:
The next question will undoubtedly be "when is the first update due" and right now there is no specific time set at the moment, however with the game having gone gold, the team at Media Molecule are already hard at work on content for the game after its release, with online multiplayer creating top of the list.
Which isn't all that bad, I suppose. You'll have enough things to busy yourself with in LittleBigPlanet anyways, with or without the multiplayer online Create mode: there's a bunch of Trophies to collect, not to mention the whole tutorial to go through.
Just think of it this way: by the time the LBP patch hits, you (and your other friends) will be more than ready to show off you mad creative skillz online.

*Update* So Sam_Protagonist's post got slightly edited (with the quote shown above now strangely gone in the post). He's listed a quick FAQ to clear up any confusing info, just to spell everything out for you...
- Is online create in the game from launch? No it's not, however it will be included in the first game update after launch. We're working on making this available as quickly as possible, but want to make sure it's right before releasing it.
- What does online create actually mean? Online create, quite simply, is the ability to use the create side of the game in an online multiplayer fashion.
- So I can still share my levels? Absolutely. All of the sharing features of the game are up and running.
- And I can still play multiplayer? Yes, both online and offline multiplayer (or any combination of the two) for playing through the story, or any downloaded levels.
- And I can still create levels with my friends offline? Totally. Up to 4 players can work together on a single PS3 to create levels. Also, you can still work collaboratively with friends to build levels by exchanging them through the share portion of the game.

About Home... well, there's a possibility. But chances are, the updates for Home (beta) and LBP won't coincide.
The Home manager said they're expecting the update (to fix the bugs in the beta) to go live sometime late October. LBP gets released late October. So... If they're going to release the LBP update "after launch," it could be a few weeks after "late October."
Or... it could be during the last week of October (i.e. LBP's launch week). It's anyone's guess really. No one, not even the devs themselves, knows the dates for the releases, so we'll just take what we can.

it says you can share levels, play multiplayer and create levels offline
it doesnt say you can play online with a level you previously created offline

And as the Media Molecule dev further explains (he posted the following quote after the FAQ):
"From my perspective, which you can take or leave, it is well worth getting some practise in with the create side of the game before trying to use it in a multiplayer fashion as it can be somewhat frustrating to get things done if everyone you're working with is still getting used to all the functions. While it's not ideal to have to wait for this feature to be released, it might actually be beneficial to creators until it happens as you'll be able to work out the tools entirely, and figure out how best to work with others on your projects."
Which of course, echo my same sentiments too. Dude, with a game that has suuuuuch a vast amount of customizability and content configuration, you really want to learn all of its tools and functions.
I wouldn't want to sit in front of the game, hook up with my best friend from the other side of the country, and learn how much of a noob she is at content creation. Hehehe! I imagine having to give her some tutorials probably (which I wouldn't mind, honestly).
I guess this is what the dev is trying to say. And while I'm ok with it, some other people might not be.

The Home update comes out late October. And even that isn't much of a solid timeframe to go by. Well, whatever the case may be, if it does come out, it seems that it's going to be an update for the beta. Not an actual public release.
And yeah, congrats ISOHaven! I wasn't able to give my congratulations in that Home article, so I might as well do it now since you're here.
And whether or not you appreciate the Home invite, it's still quite an honor, yknow. Count your blessings, man!
The bugs might be everywhere, but then again, it's beta. That's normal. ^_^

And it takes so LONG to get back to where you were.
But, I did my part. I think 14 bug reports is good enough from one person.
