Life with PlayStation update goes live... and gets pulled out |
Ó
It looks like the wrong switched was flicked at Sony HQ. Reports from the PlayStation boards indicate that the Life with PlayStation service has actually gone live. Some people have already been able to download the update to give them access to the new service (news channel, weather channel, etc.) - the version update prompt seems to have been found via Folding@Home.
Unfortunately, all pleasant surprises must come to an end.
Turns out that the going live of Life with PlayStation was actually premature, and now, Sony's already pulled it out. Speaking to Edge, Sony clarified:
Today, while testing the application, Life with PlayStation was available for download temporarily, by mistake. We will make [an] official announcement for the service launch shortly.
Oopsie...
What ever the case may be, whether you were lucky enough to have been able to download it already, it seems that the system firmware update introducing Life of PlayStation will be (officially, this time around) rolling out soon. Maybe this week? Maybe the next?

if it actually worked, flawlessly....
then why did they take it off again??
i haven't heard any complaints about it not working properly, so why didnt they just let be downloadable?
You can see the globe that is going to be used with Life with Playstation by going to date and time settings and select the chose a time zone option
well, THAT globe is the exact same as the one in the music-player!
and as far as i remeber (when about games/consoles i remeber DAMN well) SONY said that the globe in Life With Playstation will be "up to date", if you know what i mean...
the globe in LWP will be "alive", and as you may have figured the music-visualizer is NOT..
though it's propably the same globeee :)
ohh, just so you know i weren't trying to flame you, though my way if writing may seem so once in a while :(
:)
i meant to write "though my way OF writing.." not "IF writing".... always happens :(
really wierd
who cares? it's been OVERdelayed, if there's such thing. i mean, there's the television for pete's sake. if you want news or what-nots, just change the HDMI screen to your cable screen. lazy, no?
I got to download it last night at like 2am... And i really wasn't all to impressed. It makes sence now hearing it wasn't supposed to come out. i thought a lot was missing, and noit turn out i was right... All and all when they release it officialy it will be cool!
i started downloading it on 9/18 at 5:50 am, its 126mb and seems to be the full thing
It's now been officially released, load up folding@home to install it.
