SIXAXIS Rumble?

It's a fact of life that the SIXAXIS won't have the Rumble feature. Kaz says they dropped it because of costs. No Rumble means cheaper controller, right? But some of you have commented that if Sony were to include Rumble and raise the SIXAXIS price, you wouldn't mind at all. As some of you would say: "What's a few more dollars, anyway?"

You guys have a point. But still, Sony seems to be sticking to a Rumble-less controller. To whom can those who want Rumble turn to now but third party hardware manufacturers?

The guys up at PS3 Fanboy were able to sight a mysterious "PS3/PS2 Controller Adapter" from Pelican to be sold in EBGames come December 1 for US$4.99. But more than that, there's no info of what it actually is. There's no picture, even (at least not when we went there to look at it). But PS3 Fanboy thinks that it could be an add-on accessory that will simulate a Rumble feature for the PS3 (and PS2) controller.

If you want to believe it or not, it's going to cost you five bucks. If this controller really is a Rumble add-on, then those of you guys clamoring for one can just shell out a day's worth of allowance (or less, even) to get your vibrating toy. If it turns out to be a different kind of "controller adapter" and not a Rumbler, then it's only a matter of time before someone comes out with one.

it is not a rumble adapter. the developer has to implement the rumble. they wouldnt spend the time and effort to implement something for a 5 dollar accessory.

think about it logically, and you will realize that it is a ps2 controller adapter that you can connect into the USB port on the PS3. I work at gamestop, and have seen this already in an book about coming accessories.

# PS2 -> PS3Guest 2006-10-20 11:07
It sounds more like an adapter to use a PS2 controller on PS3. (guitar hero controller, DDR pad, steering wheel, etc.)

That seems to make more sense.

But whose to say that sony wont feature it later on ina redesigned controller? Dual shock wasnt introduced to the PS1 untill after a few years. Maybe sony will add it to PS3 later if enough ppl moan about it?

they should just put the rumble on it and have a button to turn it on or off

Those guys at PS3 Fanboy need to start using their heads for something other than some place to put a hat. All this will do (as Andrew said) is let you use the PS2 controller on the PS3- that's it. You won't get any rumble in PS3 games- deal with it.

Yeah that makes logical sense. Why would you need an accessory for rumble on a PS2 controller? :P But I'm glad I'll be able to play guitar hero on my ps3 :D

oh... and doesn't everyone and their grandma work at gamestop nowadays? Or it seems so with every post people post.

Yes, the develeoper has to implement the feature. Also an adpter cant add rumble if the SIXAXIS doesnt have any rumble motors.

# InterferanceGuest 2006-10-20 17:02
sony says rumble would interfere with the SIXAXIS. i think thats a good thing. for example, Motorstorm. it would give the effect of the steering wheel turning by itself when you go over a bump, just like in real life.

Why is Qj more and more stupid everytime they hear a rumor. You guys are the biggest idiots out there. First was when the guy from EA said that Wii's buttons are "pressure sensative" and for some reason you thought there was gonna be a touch screen on the Wii's controller. Now it says that there's gonna be an adapter for PS3/PS2 controllers, most likely so you can use the PS2 controller on PS3 or vise versa, and somewhere you get an idea that there's a rumble feature. There was no mention of rumble anywhere! Just like there was no mention of a touch screen, and just like every other article you guys believe is true! Get smarter!

Hit the nail on the head with that one. That's exactly why they made this little adapter.
