Leipzig: new 160GB PS3-Uncharted bundle, Wireless Keypad announced |
Ó
First up: the Uncharted: Drake's Fortune PS3 Bundle. It comes with the 160GB PS3 unit (yeowza!), a copy of Uncharted, a PSN coupon for PAIN, and a DualShock 3 controller. Just so you know, the 160GB PS3 unit will have the same features as its (now puny) 80GB brother, and the only difference is the amount of storage space. The 160GB PS3-Uncharted bundle is to be sold for US$ 499.99 and will be arriving come November of this year.
There's also the PS3 Wireless Keypad that you can attach onto the SIXAXIS or DualShock 3. On top of it having a standard QWERTY keyboard, there are also two additional shortcut buttons: one that allows you to go directly to your XMB's Friends icon and another leading to the Message Box.
What's more is that there's a mode in which you can turn the entire keypad into a touchpad! Well, a rather bumpy touchpad, but a touchpad no less. In that mode, you can slide your fingers down the letters and it will display the same motion as the cursor on your screen.
The Wireless Keypad (chargeable via USB) is actually also a Bluetooth device that can connect to other Bluetooth enabled devices that can support keyboards - meaning, smart phones and other mobile devices.

I spent $599 on a 60 Gig PS3. Do I have to keep going or does that already destroy your argument? If I didn't have the console right now, i could spend two hundred less dollars and get a hard drive that is three times as big with a game and blah blah blah.

60gb still is the best ps3 to date in my opinion

I'm just saying I bought the 40Gb PS3, which cost the some price as the one SKU. Sony should introduce cheater HHD from their stores, so we can upgrade our old SKU's with bigger Harddrives.
Peace Out!

I repeat, it's just a 40 gig model with a 160 gig HDD!!
If you value
backwards compatibility,
card readers,
2 extra USB ports
and the chrome finish
get the 80 gig bundle now before they discontinue it!! After the new 160 gig PS3, every PS3 SKU will have the 40 gig model features but with bigger HDDs. The new 80 gig and 160 gig have 40 gig features. Get the 80 gig before these babies go the way of the 20, 60 and 40 gig models!!
Take alook at this link for the PS3 model features chart. It explains it all!!

I'm thinking that statement is going towards the new 80GB PS3 thats a 40GB PS3 with a bigger HD that was announced around E3.
To Sony: There are many people that don't want backwards compatibility that will buy this model. There are also a hell of a lot of people that want it along with the memory card readers. I though the PS3 was a multimedia machine? Removing the memory card readers removes the "multimedia machine" name.
I have the 80GB and I've used the memory card readers atleast 20 times in having the system for 1 month.

I think its bluetooth or hooking up to the controller via the USB port on the controller. In other words you might not be able to use it when the controller is out of batteries or charging. Just my guess.

I know logitech make a PS3 keyboard, it even has the triangle, circle... on their corresponding keys, but its a Japanese one(so the escape key has X on it instead of O).
By the way, I am aware that any brand USB keyboard works.

If its BlueTooth it should work on any PS3, shouldn't it?

Unless this one has the 4 USBs, PS2 compatiblity, and memory card slots you shouldn't be botherd by this.

4 USB slots aren't enough for me, and I used to have plans of adding my printer to it but the slots are all taken.
Does anyone know if there are any printers with memory cards slots that work with PS3 via USB? because I reckon it could 40GB owners the memory card slots back and double as a printer.
