Lair dev dislikes Warhawk's use of motion-sensing

Suffice it to say that Julian Eggebrecht is an interesting sort of fellow. As if it wasn't enough that the folks at Factor 5 and Sony were cheeky enough to release a guide to reviewing Lair, it seems Eggebrecht is also on the offensive, berating the motion control that can be found in another game on the PlayStation 3 roster: Warhawk.

Games Radar reports that during a talk with Julian Eggebrecht about the motion-sensing controls in other games, he was quick to denounce the way other games had pulled the system off. "Warhawk's controls are... eurgh!," he explained. He continued with a remark about how motion sensing should be used, "I see motion-sensing as a complimentary, additional new step in terms of controls and where it fits you should use it and where it doesn't fit, don't force it. Please don't force it."

Perhaps that is the case, but it should be noted that while Warhawk makes motion-sensing an optional addition to the gameplay experience, Lair's motion-sensing controls are a completely compulsory experience.

Most people say the motion controls in Warhawk kick the a$$ of the controls in Lair.

Personally I use analogs in Warhawk..

Anyway... he's a retard to be denouncing fellow PS3 titles, especially one that doesnt compete with his. They should be trying to promote console sales anyway they can.. This pisses me off A LOT... Im starting to regret buying Lair

Hmmmm, good motion control that you can turn off and use the stick if you want to beats bad motion control that you are forced to use anyday.

"Please don't force it"? Does this guy have it backwards? Did he smoke some crazy weed and he thinks he made Warhawk and the other guys made Lair or something? His game is the only one that forces it, and it forces TERRIBLE motion control to boot.

Eggebrecht, your game sucked, I know it, you know it, my friend's mom knows it. Why don't you save the criticism, which is completely unwarranted in the first place, and focus on realizing what you did wrong with Lair and use that knowledge to make a better game?

Nobody uses the motion controls in either game anyways. Six Axis sucks in my opinion.

Im already use to it in Motorstorm except for bike controling.

But yeh we shud have been given a choice at least much like how we were given a choice between D-Pad and analoge :)
