Prepare for a whole new batch of nightmares as Silent Hill 5 (also coming to Xbox 360) delivers on the creepiness factor.

Konami has only released two screenshots for E3 but it's already good enough to give you claustrophobia. One screen shows what seems to be a classic chair modified for torture in a metal chamber. The next screen shows what seems to be an abandoned hospital, suffering from neglect and depression. Familiar?

The latest installment will revolve around the story of Alex Shepherd, who searches for his father and brother upon finding them missing when he comes home from the war. Hopefully the game will be out by next year. The game is slated for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and is being developed by group The Collective.

hmm

How much do you wanna bet that the whole thing will be about how Alex tortured people and did horrible things during the war...and to atone he must see the same things happen to his own family =-o

Agree

Agree with you, this doesn´t look nexgen :S what happened to team silent? The room was way better than this in graphics...but like always... it always sucks cross-videogame artist they tend to make things awful.

You're so correct

The Room sucked royally. Sure it had it's good moments, but in style and story, just didn't par with it's older installments. :S

Hmm..

I agree, the graphics are lacking for a silent hill game. If the original team was working on it instead of the american team, I bet the graphics would be horrendously good. Dig the story though.

gah!!

An american team!?!?!? this will suck far more than SH4 = / I just might skip this one, or just play on PC, pc games are cheaper xD

Yeah it will

Nothing is great on pics just nothing, blur textures on the walls and floors, nothing special about lighting, what about shadows?Man and the poligons on that, whatever it is on the wall...uhhh,aliasing,copy/paste textures on the 2nd pic.Just pasted normal textures! Some bumpmap?Something next-gen?Where is that? Only in a Team Silent... I realy am a hard SH fan... Whell I will wait 4 some in-game trailer... then I will judge...more :-(

ya

looks like a flippin ps2 game imo

The PS2 did provide excellent graphics

Even now, whenever i boot up the game God of War or even GT3, I am still amazed by how much this little black box can do...think about it, 293.something mhz processor and a pretty weak in today's terms graphics processor combined give you amazing results...honestly, the game that pushes the console to its limit was God of War 2 and it looks amazing...heck even older games like Gran Turismo 4 took my breath away...and these screens are pre pre pre Alpha...they probably didn't do much work on the textures and stuff...these are just pointers to what will happen in the final build and this is probably a long time from now judging from the lack of screens. And don't say flippin PS2 game coz no one ain't taking it...PS2 is and will remain one of the most prominent console in all time...it sold over 100 Million...that's crazy!
