Kojima: MGS 4 Trophy and 3D support is great, if only someone does it for him |

Fans have been all up in Hideo Kojima's face requesting -- nay, demanding -- that he come up with something for the integration of Trophy Support and 3D for Metal Gear Solid 4. Thing is, Kojima would want the same thing as well, just as long as he doesn't have to be the one to do it.
Said Kojima, finally addressing the rabid demands, "I wanted to make a 'Complete Version' with trophy support and 3D, but if I did that I wouldn't be able to work on a new game. I wonder if someone else would make it for me."
I don't see any hands going up right now. In other words, you better give the man space, or else you won't get anything out of him.

But adding 3D support would take way too much time to justify for a game that's been out for so long. A trophy patch however, should be quite easy and do able.

"make snake barf" or "grab raidens crotch 3 times.". Don't get me wrong I'd still do it though.

We've been waiting for trophies for MGS4 since trophy support first came in way back in mid 2008. To say that adding it to MGS4 would be too difficult or time consuming is utter BS. Naughty Dog did it for Uncharted in what, 3 or 4 weeks? Now granted MGS4 is a much bigger game, but still how hard can it possibly be? Plus MGS4 is so far the ONLY MGS game to not get an updated rerelease a few years later. Yes the first one did - Twin Snakes anyone? Hell even MG1 and 2 got rereleases with MGS3! And what's to say he even NEEDS to be involved with adding trophies? All he'd have to do is look over the proposed list of trophies and say "Yeah. Do that."
*Sigh* Anyway, rant over.

He would rather spend 4 weeks (many more for move support) working on his current games or thinking of ideas for new ones...not implementing trophies and a new control scheme into a game that is fine as is.

Of course it wouldn't take that long. Naughty Dog is also first party.

Maybe since we have jailbreak now, he could release MGS4 as open source and people could have all sorts of fun with it

Speaking a bit more realistically, I don't think much people really care about 3d support (hell, for what I tried it gives me headaches), but it's lame not to have trophy support.
As a dev myself I can't imagine adding trophies to be THAT complicated, although I'm not in the game business and obviously I'm not specialized in the PS3 platform coding. But I've seen enough on my 15 years of professional experience on diverse alike matters so no one will convince me otherwise. I believe the trophy API should be simple enough to insert a few lines of code here and there (including adding this or that counter) for implementing each trophy. Takes time, but even if the original code is REALLY messed up, as someone said above, shouldn't take more than 3 or 4 weeks as it took Naughty Dog to relase Uncharted trophy patch. 3D support would obviously be a whole different beast, but as I said, I don't really care about it.
Yeah I know the real motive is that it wouldn't give them any profit (specially) now to do it, so I gave up hoping for it a long time ago. But please don't make excuses Mr. Kojima, we appreciate your work well enough for you to do that.
