It was way back in June when Nikkei Corporate reported that both Koei and Tecmo were working on looking to combine their respective IP to unite their fanbases. While it's not the Xtremely Bouncy Dead or Alive Bikini Beach Volleyball that some folks were hoping for, the new rollout is still very much capable of meeting the now merged publishers' goal of bringing fanbases together.

We're in luck - the publishers will be sharing IP from their most prominent development teams - Tecmo's Team Ninja and Koei's Omega Force. Ninja Gaiden's Ryu Hayabusa will be playable in the PS3 port of Shin Sangoku Musou: Multi Raid (Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce), while the Xbox 360 port will get Nu Wa from Warriors Orochi. To return the favor, Omega Force lends Zhao Yun and Sun Shang Xiang costumes to Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2.

There's no word if Koei Tecmo will be working on bringing Ryu and/or Nu Wa to the PSP version of Strikeforce as DLC.

Sure, it's not a completely crossed-over game like we were all hoping for, but hey, a Ryu Hayabusa flying around and mass-slaughtering in Strikeforce should be interesting all the same.

I read that and immediately thought of SSX, that old snowboarding game that was horrifically awesome. Thanks EA, for just dropping a great series even though it sold well.

They should have just made a true sequel to SSX3 instead of doing random portable ports and garbage like Blur. I know they made another one for PS2 and such after 3, but it didn't even have online and 3 was pretty much better in every regard.
