"Good timing" is how Final Fantasy XIII (Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3) producer Yoshinori Kitase characterizes the recently announced PS3 price cuts. For him, it suits their timing perfectly for the release of the highly-anticipated title.

At the GamesCom last week, he said, "We're taking it as really good news, actually, because we're planning to release Final Fantasy XIII this winter in Japan and next spring for both European and North American territories." He also said that the price cut therefore made the console "even more accessible for players" which would then translate to better accessibility for their game.

but isnt this game also coming to the 360?.. i dont care though, as i will be getting the ps3 version, only 1 disc as opposed to not-yet know number of discs for the 360..

Obviously

If the PS3 sold some 50k+ units partially in thanks to the demo in one week then the actual game will net even more sales and with the price drop it'll boost the PS3 sales, probably, astronomically. The only thing I see that could cause a bigger boost would be a Dragon Quest Game.
