Killzone"A video game more expensive than the most expensive film." It is in these words, albeit in Dutch, that elusive title Killzone made its presence felt once more after a long deafening silence from Guerrilla Games. Accordingly, Dutch newspaper "de Volksrant" caught up with game director Arjan Brussee for an interview that confirmed some rumors and spilled a little bit of new information.

Yesterday's rumor about microtransacted expansions didn't last long as Brussee ascertained that Killzone will indeed have downloadable components. "The Killzone that is in stores is only the beginning. New 'chapters' will be downloadable," announced the director.

Aside from that, the Dutch article focused on the game's production cost. To those of you who are wondering, the first sentence actually refers to World War II film Zwartboek, the priciest film in Dutch history (16 million Euros/ US$ 21 million). Brussee boasted, "Our budget tops the film. We're working on the biggest multimedia project in Dutch history."

The director also explained that Killzone PS3 is very demanding in terms of graphics, leaving Guerrilla Games with no choice but to employ 120 developers. Also, Brussee mentioned that the game will be fully translated in 20 different languages, and that's another reason for the game's rather expensive cost.

With that said, the director remains optimistic as he said: "This effort will pay off in the long run. You sell 30 to 40 percent more units with a translated version." Up to now, there is still no official word as to when the game will be released.

» "de Volksrant"

"de Volksrant" should be " de Volkskrant"

krant = newspaper

rand (d) = border

» Awesome

I can almost feel how awesome this game will be!

SONY (and Guerrilla, who recently pulled out killzone:Libera tion)

wants this game be the HALO 3 killer (against Gears of War it seems Guerrilla has another title in production), and at the same time it needs to show what can be done with this beast named PS3. Look at MotorStorm, many haters doubted about it being great, now all doubts have been buried and a non-yet-released MotorStorm is impressing everybody and people even says that is very close to 2005 CG video.

This game is going to be a system seller and additional chapters sounds promising.
