Ó
Excited for the Killzone 3 beta? Well, I've got some good news, and some potentially bad news. Good news is, the beta will start later this month. The bad news is, if you're not a PlayStation Plus subscriber, you can't be part of it.
Here's how to get in:
- Be(come) a Plus subscriber
- With the exception of a handful of key media partners and selected PAX feedback participants, access to the Killzone 3 Public Beta Trial is limited to PlayStation Plus subscribers. If you’re not enjoying the many benefits of Plus membership yet, now’s the time to sign up!
- Download the theme
- On October 19th, an exclusive Killzone 3 XMB Theme will appear in the Plus section of the PlayStation Store. The first 10,000 Plus subscribers to download this theme (5,000 SCEA Plus subscribers and 5,000 SCEE Plus subscribers) will receive access to the Public Beta Trial.
- Check your email
- After you’ve downloaded the Killzone 3 XMB Theme, you will receive an email on Oct. 25th containing the Public Beta Trial promotion code and further instructions through the address you registered as your PSN Sign-In ID. Make sure you’ve set your notification preferences to accept emails from SCE, or we won’t be able to contact you.
So if you're not a Plus subscriber, the question would be, would cough up some cash to get into the beta?

I won't be getting KZ3 if they don't release a demo for it on normal PSN

Pre-demos stay on PS+ for a while but then they'll turn up for the free users.

And then, after SCE made a big hoopla over psn+ members getting exclusive access to betas, they limit it even further by only letting 5000 from each region. Setting aside the fact that there are more NA players and EU (meaning if you're an NA + subscriber, you've got more competition than an EU subscriber), that seems to be kind of a weak way of fulfilling that particular promise. A lot of people bought plus 'cuz it was supposed to let them into exclusive betas and/or demos, but now it turns out it only got them a chance at the beta. Sony found a way to make psn+ even more of a ripoff than it already was.
Remember that movie "Major League," where they needed the team to tank to make a whole bunch of money somehow? Is anybody starting to wonder if SCE is going through something like that? Like they're trying to drive their business into the ground by pissing off all their customers. I mean seriously, what the hell is going through those guys heads' these days? I bet they fired Ken Kutaragi 'cuz he wouldn't cooperate with their dick moves.
